My mum has had 5 children. I am the second youngest and I was the only child that when she was pregnant with she continued to smoke (only 2 a day, but still smoked) and my dad smoked in the house too. I'm the only child who has asthma and a weakened immune system and always catching virus' etc.

People who have never smoked in their life, but have been around smokers can develop fatal lung cancer as well as other diseases and it is just so irresponsible to have you or your baby/unborn baby around anything like that.

@kelsybby92, just my opinion but you should ask your bf to smoke outside the house, cuz the reality is you dont know if your baby is healthy because its still inside of you. second hand smoke of any type can cause breathing problems/asthma and you wont know until your baby is born. Just some advice, do with it what you'd like

It wont hurt you oR the babyas llong as it's not like a hot boxed room you no. But it will show up in your placenta. So make sure you tell your doctor. Just go in your room and have the door shut when she does do it. My bf smokes in our house all the time but I just stay away from it now. My baby is perfectly fine and healthy and I'm 30 weeks

Second hand smoke is just as bad for you, and your baby as it would be if your were smoking yourself. You need to ask her to smoke outside if you're there. The fumes go into everything - fabrics etc so it lingers and isn't good.

The second hand smoke is not good for you or the baby. Ask mom, if she can smoke outside of the house. Plus, there is a tiny chance that u can test positive for weed. My friend went to a concert when she was around 4 months and everyone was smoking around her. At her next dr. appt. The nurse talked to her about her "drug use" because she tested positive for weed. She explained what happened and the.nurse said ok, but for her next two appointments the.nurse kept grilling her about not smoking or doing any drugs. She was very frustrated and super embarrased. Granted she was in an environment with heavy weed smoke, but wht risk it. It wouldnt be fair that your being a good mommy taking care of ur baby and as a result of someone elses actions you get grilled. Just ask your mom to smoke outside,or anywhere else.
