Nervous about prescriptions (low dose oxycodone & zoloft)

Hello everyone! I am just about 24 weeks pregnant. I have been taking 100mgs of Zoloft throughout the pregnancy. Around the end of 1st trimester, I also started taking oxycodone 5mgs (2-3 a day). It is prescribed. I have one healthy child who is 5 1/2. I took paxil durin that pregnancy, as it was before they upped it to pregnancy class D. I tapered down to 20mgs during that pregnancy. It was hell, but the baby was and is super healthy.

I haven't tried to taper off of the zoloft. I don't feel like I can. I know it is currently considered safer than Paxil, but I am still worried a little because it is a relatively high dose. Has anyone taken this amount throughout pregnancy?

Also, I will need to taper off of the pain medicine soon. I want to start tapering immediately. I have such bad anxiety, though... I have quit these kinds of meds before, and I am really scared that I will be inconsolable. Has anyone had experience tapering? How gradual was it? What was it like??

I will talk to my doctor when I go in next time, but I really just need some advice, support, or stories of similar situations to ease my mind. I am reaaally nervous about it. I have my 2nd trimester ultrasound next week. I am so excited. It's hard not to worry, though.

Any help appreciated. Thanks!!

There are lots of pregnant women who remain on Zoloft during pregnancy.  Since you are pregnant we need you to be ok too!  If Zoloft works for you and it has been prescribed then all is good.  But why the oxycodone?   This concerns me more than Zoloft.

I understand your concern, I am currently 25 weeks pregnant and taking Xanax XR (I can't stop taking it because I have severe withdrawals from it that sends me into convulsions so my Doctors said it was better if I stayed on it and tried to taper down some.) So far my baby is healthy, the anatomy scan came back perfect, her heartbeat is always strong and she is very active. I met with a neonatologist and he said that I shouldn't worry too much because everything looks good but just in case he is going to be there when I deliver in case my baby does experience withdrawals but he assured me that if that does happen that it won't be as bad as other people have said it could be.

I've heard zoloft is one of the safest drugs to take during pregnancy so I wouldn't worry too much about that but I'm not sure about oxycodone, if you haven't discussed this with your Doctor then you should but don't stress out too much because stress can be just as bad for the baby as medications if not worse. You should research oxycodone and pregnancy and see what it brings up and maybe you should meet with a neonatologist as well. I hope everything turns out well and congrats on your pregnancy.
