Newly Pregnant with Splitting Headache

I just found out that I was pregnant yesterday morning which is wonderful news. My question however is right now I am nauseous beyond belief and I have the worst splitting headache. I tried calling my doctor's office but they are closed for lunch right now! Since this is my first pregnancy and my first appointment isn't until December 4, I am pretty much an amateur. Does anyone know if it is okay if I take Tylenol or Advil for the headache and if so, how much is the recommended dose? Also, what can I take for the nausea? I know this is just the beginning of many more symptoms to come and I probably sound like a complete baby complaining but today is the first day that I have truly had any symptoms strong enough to affect my concentration and performance at work. Anyway, any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks again.

Yes you can take Tylenol but not Advil.  I know how the headaches are.  I get them really bad for the first trimester.  It's horrible!!!!

I am 11 weeks pregnant and starting to get headaches.  Do you put the cloth on your head or inhale scent through your nose?  I'm going to try it definately!

You can take tylenol - another thing to do is to lay down and put a ice pack on your head and a hot pack on your lower back. I know it sounds odd but the contrast of hot and cold will soothe the pain

I have a silly one for you, I am 9 wks, and my headaches are terrible and tylenol doesnt work.. Take a wash cloth with vingear on it, white.. And lay down, it takes the headache away intanstly, and it has no bad side affects...

Yep, Tylenol is okay. I had headaches a lot during early pregnancy because of caffeine withdrawls. I didn't take Tylenol, but I drank caffeine free sodas and the sugar seemed to help.  :)

Regular tylenol is what I was told to take but I only take one at a time, if that doesn't work I take another but stop there at two.  CONGRATS!!!  Maybe this is just the aftermath of all that frustrating waiting and timing and calculations and all that stress from TTC.  I am soo very happy for you!!

I think you can take tylenol...but not advil. I don't know why advil is bad, but that's what I've heard.
