No heartbeat at 1o weeks

I went in for my 10 week appt. and the dr. was having problems hearing the heartbeat, they said they just couldn't be 100% sure. They sent me for an ultrasound and the tech said she couldn't see anything either. They thought the baby had died but wanted me to come back and have another ultrasound done. I had one today and still nothing. I have not had any symptoms of a miscarriage and still feel pregnant. I am very confused and have no idea what to think. I am going to get a second opinion as soon as I can. Any advice?

Well, even after a missed M/C you would still have pregnancy symptoms (I just went thru this in Dec.) b/c the hormones are all still there.....Don't give up hope yet though.....Like missyg477 mentioned, have Hcg levels drawn.....It's a better indicator as to whether or not the pregnancy is viable.....I've heard too many stories re: heartbeats and women going on to carry to term......So just request the Hcg levels be drawn...they'll draw you one day and then again 48 hours later....If they rose, you should be good to go!  If they drop, then a M/C is likely.....Please let us know how you make out.....I'll be thinking of you.
