Normal HCG levels??

Hi Ladies,

My pregnancy was confirmed by my doctor yesterday via a blood test, as I have a previous history of miscarriage she checked my HCG levels and they came back at 198. I have to go back in two days to make sure they are rising. I was wondering if 198 is a normal level for a 4/5 week pregnancy? I checked the internet and there seems to be a wide variety of what is considered normal at this stage, can anyone reassure me that my levels are fine so far?

Thank you,
Melissa

Hi there Tracey here in the uk its not the normal procedure to have a hcg done, its only if you have suffered mc.or difficult pregnancys.a hcg is a beta test to see what level you are at.if your cycles were irregular etc they may test to see how far on you are in pregnancy..dont worry about it.your pregnancy is fine,so no need to have it done...

Good luck!  I think there is such a wide range, that as long as they are going up, then they are probably fine.  I'm going for my second hcg draw today to see if my levels are doubling like they should.  Hopefully we'll all be fine =)

Hugs!
