Nuchal translucency

hi, I have found this website quite helpful and i have yet another question. I am now 12 wks. ..Two days ago my husband and I went in for a regular sonogram at my OB's office and they saw a nuchal behind the baby's neck..they then sent us to the hospital the following morning for a nuchaol translucency sonogram and it turned out that the baby had a nuchal of 5mm. We opted to do a CVS right there and are waiting for the results..has anyone experienced this?? l keep reading how many women who have babies with very large nuchals go on to have normal healthy babies...can anyone help..we are just worried...

I am in the exactly same position as you are.  but I am almost 40 years old so my risk is probably higher than yours.  my babies measurement was 5mm yesterday and I had my CVS yesterday.  Now I have to wait....I am incredibly anxious.

Sorry I haven't experienced this, but having the CVS done will give you a better idea of if there's anything wrong with your baby's genetic makeup.  I hope your results are good and that the nuchal fold was just large and the baby is normal.
