OMG Ladies ........... Possible UTI

Hey,

So I'm having all the symptoms.  Burning when I pee, thinking I have to pee a lot and when I go  just one drop(literally) comes out, pain around my belly area (feel more like cramps).  I just went to the doctor and left a sample of my urine, so hopefully he will call me today and tell me whether or not I do have a UTI.

My question is, is it normal to have cramps as well???

By the way, when I push down (like if I was peeing) I feel a little relieve.

Sometimes a UTI (if not treated on time) can cause pre-term labor.  I recently had a UTI but didn't know it.  My symptoms were cramping, blood in my urine and braxton hicks.  Well when I went to the hospital they checked me for pre-term labor (FFN test), then checked to see if I was dialated.  Since both of those were negative, they put a cathader in me to narrow down where the blood was coming from (in my urine).  So it turns out it was coming from my bladder.  So they told me I had a UTI.  I was also contracting, though irregular, but they gave me a shot to stop the contractions and help with the cramping.  I took an anti-biotic for 7 days.  Anyways, I asked her wht would have happened if this wasn't treated and she told me I could have gone into pre-term labor.  SO based on my experience a UTI can cause cramping.  Also, it took the full 7 days for me to start feeling better, plus I went back to the doctor and they checked my urine and it was all cleared up.

Thank you Grandma ( hope you don't mind me calling you grandma, LOL) I just sent my friend to get me a cranberry juice. I'm so uncomfortable. I want this to be over.  I just hope my baby girl is ok.

Yes, that cramping is totally normal.  UTI's are a huge bummer and sooo uncomfortable.  While you are waiting for the doctor to call, go to the store and get some cranberry juice and start drinking it.  Something about the acid in the cranberry juice that helps with the UTI symptoms, by flushing out your system.

I got my very first UTI when I was about 6-8 weeks pregnant with my first daughter.  They are so miserable and I'm sorry you are feeling poorly.  Let us know how it goes with the doctor....
