ONE incident of loose stools on the pill! Help!!!!

I am on my 8th month of Yasmin birth control. I take my pill at 9pm every night, but one night I had ONE incident of loose stool 30 minutes later. I had a stomachache from eating dinner too late that night. It was loose, but not really watery and not a TON of "stuff." That was the only time it happened and I have not had loose stool again. I had sex that night with a condom and 3 days later with a condom. I am still somewhat concerned that my pill failed. My pill packet says that if you have diarrhea, your pills may not work as well. I just don't know what they consider diarrhea! Has anyone asked a doctor this question? I don't want to go to the doctor since I'm not sick. I believe the true definition is going often and having loose stools and I'm pretty sure one time isn't defined as diarrhea, but I keep getting mixed answers. We always use both the pill and condoms (which have never broken or slipped) and I have taken all other pills at the exact same time this month and that would have been my only slip-up with the pills. Thanks so much! So even though it was 30 minutes right after I took it, it should be fine? They save throwing up within 2 hours...but I don't know about it coming out of "the other end" haha. I know I should be protected with the condoms anyway, but I tend to worry about stupid stuff. thanks again. :)

Yep, I think that it's of you have a bout of the flu.....just b/c they figure that if you're having excessive vomiting/diarrhea, that your body won't have time to absorb the pills....I wouldn't worry though......It sounds like you are being very safe.....

Thanks. It was just that I ate too late...I'm not sick. I usually eat by 5:00 pm and ate at about 8 pm that night because I was busy, so I think I just ate too late. And I'm not on Yaz, I'm on Yasmin. It's different. They say it can affect the pill, but I think that might mean if you go a lot? Hopefully it's okay and thanks for your help!

The chance of the pill not working due to one case of diarrhea would be slim....and the fact that you are also using condoms leads me to believe that theres a slim to none chance of you getting pregnant.....I wouldn't worry about it!  Best wishes

If you are taking the pill and using a condom I don't think you would be pregnant. The odds would be very slim. I wouldn't let the fact you had one loose bm worry you. It could have been whatever you ate for dinner. I don't think it would have affected your birth control. Not unless you had diarrhea all the time. Honestly, I have never heard of diarrhea affecting contraceptive, but I don't know anything about the new Yaz.
