once you get a surge there is no reason to waste tests anymore O will be in the next 24-48 hours so just start BDing' I always would BD the day of a + OPK and skip a day and then try the next day....it worked for me I now have 10 week old twins
Well every woman is different, it does help to chart temps just to no that you did ovulate. This cylce has been crazy for me, i think im ovulating later this cycle. I normally get a positive on CD15 ovulation pains on cd16 then cd17 i have a shift change in my temp. Well this cylce i got positive opk cd16 17 18 and im having ovulation pains as we speak. so i will see if my temp shifts 2mrw or next day. Some people ovulate quickly after getting a surge and some will ovulate later. Its hard to say if you should stop or keep going. I relied soley on my ovulation pains and temps, but since the m/c in june i started back using the opks just to see if things were on track or not, and they are a little off track.
I no its a hard thing to do(take your temp every mourning) but it does help in letting you no if you ovulated or not, im on cd18 and flipping out bcuz my temps are still low, i dont no why im ovulating so late, even though im not ttc this cycle.
When did you get a positve opk Amy, also, do you ever notice the ovulation pains days later.
My successful month (:o)) we BD'd starting a few days before I thought I would ovulate, then I got my surge, and continued to BD for a few days after that being like someone else mentioned, they aren't 100%...and it worked!
I always bd'd up until close to time for AF so I knew I didn't miss my time. Probably a waste of time, but it made me feel better.
If you got a positive then they do generally say to stop, but to be honest opk are not 100% reliable, unless you chart also.i wouldnt rely soley on them.as you know the surge is when the line is as dark as or same as test line.then the egg will pop within 48hours.ive had positive tests but not actually ovulated,i really suggest charting as well as tests,at least once you can see a clear thermal shift on your chart you know you have o'ed..
