My lil guy never wore newborn diapers! lol...everyone got me size 1 at my shower....and then a week after he was born..I found a pack of newborn diapers and tried one on him and it wouldn't fit. he was 8lbs 4 oz at birth.....it says they are good up to ten pounds....oh well!! everyone is different. =)

my son didnt wear newborns for too long but we needed a lot. we got 1 box of 156 (something like that) and we used them all in maybe 2 weeks because he was born 8 lbs 1 ounce and they are for 5-8 lbs and my son has really thick thighs, cuz hes a big chubby baby. he wasnt in the size for long at all! but we needed a lot and im glad we got a big box becuse his poop was soo soo runny it would run out of ends i didnt even kno he had not to mention he would seem to poop every hour!

like the other ladies are saying it really depnds. i really wouldnt buy diapers in advance because they grow so quickly and they might be in size 1 one day and its getting kinda tight and then you look up and boom they cant fit at all the next

Like MamaofOneTrying42 said....even if you get too many just make sure you only open one pack at a time, that way you can atleast go trade them out for the next size up...I've had to do that before as well.  One thing you CAN buy in TONS of bulk that you will seem to never have enough of...BABY WIPES...they were awesome...I even still use them for my 3 and 4 yo's.  I wish we had a Sam's club here but the closest is 45 minutes away.

I personally can't say to go by weight. My daughter was 8lbs 5 oz and was in preemie clothes for a month and in preemie diapers two weeks. Then she went to newborn for about a month and stuck in size 1 for a long time. She just turned two and we are trying to potty train her, but if she wears a regular diaper she would still be in a three. It all depends and like mamaofonetryingfortwo said you can take them and exchange them for a bigger size. HTH and good luck! :o]

I think they are all different I think I have bought about 120 of the preemie diapers so that should last me about a week if each baby uses 8 diapers a day and I've gotten about 300 and something of the size newborn and about the same of size 1

I would say no more than TWO newborn size diapers...then perhaps a costco pack of size 1 ....even tho the newborn size says up to a certain weight...every kid is different and may not fit them well...I've only bought ONE pack of newborn size, the rest are size 1

You know, every baby is different....My son was in nb diaper a little longer then normal. I had so many diaper from my baby shower, that if he had growen out of them I would just Re turn them.
