OT-How and when did your fiance/husband propose?

I am just curious. I was listening to some stories and some were sweet, some were weird, but above all they were romantic. As for me, my fiance and I had broken up (he was my boyfriend at the time). He came over so that we can talk it out and not end on bad terms. He told me that he did not want to leave my place with a girlfriend. Yes, I was like OMGoodness, that son of a gun. Then he got down on one knee and said I would like to leave here knowing you are going to be my wife. I was like that son of a gun. He got me. But he plans on proposing again. I do not know when, but everyone knows about it but me.

DH is a funny guy...so his proposal would only naturally be something somewhat comical rather than romantic.  We were dating for about 3 years and we had talked about marriage before...we were already living together and there was no doubt in my mind that he was the ONE for me...even when we met at 16 lol  A couple months before we got engaged we went to this state park that we LOVE with a covered bridge, waterfall and beautiful scenery and we saw a wedding and I was like "if we get married, this would be the best place"  He had a talk with me that if we got married that it wouldn't be for awhile and then we talked about engagement rings and he kept saying things like even if he did propose someday, it would be a small ring, maybe no diamond...because of money etc.  BUT the important thing would be that we were engaged and I was sooo lovestruck I didn't really care!  I just thought being engaged was the coolest thing.  Months go by, it is Christmas time and he is giving me his list, telling me everything he wants etc. and everytime I mentioned something that I wanted he was telling me that money was really tight, he wasn't sure he'd be able to get me any gifts.  I basically asked for one thing: a new pair of earrings to replace a set he had given me but one got lost =(  So, Christmas morning comes and goes....he got me a cd, chapstick and underwear!  I got him dreamcast games, clothes, cds, everything. To be honest, I was a little upset but i figured presents aren't what Christmas is about, so zip your lips and enjoy your day.  A couple hours later, we went to my mom's house and he kept telling me how much he liked his gifts and asked me how I liked mine...I was very pleasant =)  So, we spent the whole day and evening together and then at like 9:00 at night, back home, he started a fire, cuddled on the couch and then asked if I wanted to go put my contacts back on or put on something besides my pajamas...and I was like NOOOOOOO....and then he was like, come sit by the fireplace with me...so I did, and then he dropped on one knee and proposed.  The little stinker had tricked me all day long and had put the seed in my head months ago that we weren't getting engaged any time soon and not to expect a nice ring lol  He got me the perfect solitaire diamond and I couldn't believe how much hard earned cash he spent on it for being 19...I even offered to get a smaller one when we brought it in to resize it lol  I still have it though =)

My story isnt that romantic. We had talked about marriage for a few months. And one day we were at the mall just shopping and we went into a jewelers just looking for a promise ring because he was heading off to Iraq in a month and a half. But we got side tracked and started looking at rings. So we pretty much picked out the ring together. Its beautiful. He picked out the ring and band which are interlocking white and yellow gold with a nice sized heart shape diamond (im TOTALLY odsessed with hearts and have been since i was a little girl my middle name is Hart). So we bought it and he told me that when he felt the time was right that he would ask me.

So weeks went by and we never said anything about it, and then one day he told me that he was going to ask my parents if he could ask me to marry him. Myparents were a little skeptical due to the situation that we were in. But they kind of srugged and said yes. My mother actually held onto the ring till he wanted to ask me. He had told me he was going to wait till we were in Maryland (taking a trip for me to meet his family before he went to Iraq). But one night he told me to get all dressed up and he took me to my favorite resturant (the old spagetti factory). He didnt get down on one knee cause it was kind of packed but he just kept looking at me waiting for the right time to do it. Then he started telling me how much he loves me and then pulled out the box and asked me "will you be my wife?" and i was just stunded that he did it sooner then expected. And of course i said yes. We are not yet married due to our situation but we have been engaged for a year and been together for a year and a half. And i cant wait till we get married. Im so EXCITED!

We knew we wanted to get married for months because we talked about it. So we started designing a wedding set for me, just for fun. Well one day at the mall we went into a jeweler, just browsing, and almost the exact ring was for sale and on clearance. I was newly pregnant so I had to make a beeline for the bathroom. So Daniel put a down payment on the ring while I was gone. I had no inkling that he did that.

Anyway, a week or two passes. Daniel takes me out to dinner but he's acting REALLY weird. Sweaty, nervous- so I knew he was going to propose. It actually amused me quite a bit and I kept thinking, "When is he going to do it?" I felt really sick at the restaurant and spent a looooooong time in the bathroom thinking I was going to puke.

Finally I'm well enough to order from the kid's menu (yes, pathetic) and I got chicken nuggets. It was the only thing that this pregnant lady wanted. Didn't want the chilled salad or savory pasta.

Afterward he drives me down to the first place we kissed (in front of the Missouri River). It's very scenic and beautiful. It was October, though, so it was cold. He put his leather jacket around me and proposed on a huge boulder. I remember the smell of the leather jacket and the cool, crisp air.

When I saw the ring I GASPED. I couldn't believe he got the ring we had seen. It has 25 little diamonds. The 7 diamonds in the middle form a flower. This is significant because he once wrote me a poem that related to the ring. We wanted 7 babies. We got married fast (within weeks). And here we are 4 years later!
