OT Missouri Medicaid
Does anyone know why when I applied for medicaid they need my final wages for March?
Heres the deal. I applied for medicaid in February and I was denied based on the fact my hubby and I made too much. The lady said that when our combines income was less than 2600.00 a month to re apply. On March 11 my doctor took me out of work until after delivery. My husbands income with 2 jobs is less than 2600.00 and I have no income at this time. The lady said she could not process the application until they have my final wages for this month. Why would they need this considering they cant base it as monthly income considering I wont have this income after this month. How would this affect my application. I am just really worried and could use any input.

i agree with adawning4, I've never had to apply, but agree that the Dr.'s note would be helpful...that way they know that this is temporary until you deliver....Cracks me up how people who are too lazy to work have no problems getting help, yet those who work and pay taxes are given the run around! Ugh! Sorry I wasn't of much help, but I'm rooting for you!
Give them the final wages and a letter from your doctor and employer that you are no longer working..... I dont know why they do the shi** they do.... Its all a big pain the a** if you ask me... But we need it and they know we do so they can treat us however they feel.... Just make sure you give them the letters, even if she dont ask for them make her copy them and put them in your file.... Sounds like they need your final wage statement for March to prove that you wont be getting any income at all. I hate working with the state on stuff. I applied in january and got denied because there was too much money in my account. It took them all but about a week and a half to two weeks to deny me, but its taken over a month so far for my approval this time, and I applied Feb 15th. Stupid state and the system. If we didnt really need the help we wouldnt be asking for it, and besides that, why is it we have to wait up to 45 days to get help with important things,but illegal aliens and people that dont work because they know they can get help from the state, get approved right away. It stinks. My stinkin taxes that I pay out of my paycheck for my JOB pays for the assistance I am applying for, yet I cant get approved until a month and a half after I apply. Ugh!!! Sorry, the system just frustrates me. I appreciate the assistance they do help with, but it just takes so long when its needed right away.
