OT: User groups and forums

I am so confused and I have no clue why. haha I had joined the Pregnancy: June 2011 and the Pregnancy: July 2011 forums. But I just saw that there is a user group, for June and July and they get a lot more attention and traffic than the other forums. Why are there 2 different places for each? I knew I had seen quite a few women due in June and July and the forums are just so slow but I noticed the user groups get a lot more attention. I'm confused! When I was preggo last time there was just a forum and not a user group.

Oh ok! That must be why there are 2 different groups. I will stick with both now. I must have missed whenever they started the user groups. I just realized there was more traffic with the user groups so I joined. Hopefully this will help me stay connected with the other moms due around that time. Thanks! :)

I'm not sure, but I think any member can start a user group so in the case of June babies, a user started it before the website put up the "official" June 2011 group.  Then a bunch of ladies, myself included, joined right away to get connected and then a few days later the official forum started so other people saw that and joined but a bunch of us were already in the first one.  Both serve the same purpose, but I think there are just different restrictions with a user group versus the other one??  I don't really know the specifics.  I am in both of the June ones, but tend to post in the user group since it's more active. :-)
