OT: Who has their Christmas tree up (and is it real or fake)
So, we are experiencing our first white day of the year where I live in MA. We've had flurries but nothing like today. When I woke up, the grass was all covered and it has been a steady light snow all morning/day. Now I am feeling in a super Christmas-y mood. We are getting our tree on Saturday...a real one at a place that serves cocoa, gives out candy canes AND has reindeer! DH and I stumbled upon it a couple years ago and it has become our tradition...It will be great for kids!

Ah...I am so jealous of all the trees that are already up! I loved to hear everyone's traditions and plans though...I love holidays!
We just got our Christmas Tree yesterday! We go to a tree farm about 25 minutes away and cut down our own. DH was so happy with me this year because it only took me half an hour to pick one out (its taken me over 2 hours before...it has to be perfect!), especially since it was only 35 degrees and REALLY windy! DH was hilarious while we were looking...he was following behind me (on purpose) singing "I love her, I love her, I love her, and where she goes I'll follow, I'll follow...." :-) He's a good sport though
I just LOVE this time of year!! We also just got our first Snowfall yesterday...just moved to CT and it was beautiful but cold! I am obsessed with Christmas Decorations so after our company left this weekend we put up every single Christmas Decoration we own! Our Tree is fake...only because we used to move so much that we just bought one to take with us. I do Love real ones but with our 2 cats (who love climbing in the tree) it makes such a mess. So were sticking with the fakey one until Caiden gets a little older and can help us decorate it. But we have stuff all over the house, Christmas candles for the aeroma of a real tree...lol. But I just love it! It makes the house so warm and festive! I'm that person who likes to keep everything up well after Christmas!
We have a fake pre-lit tree! And we put ours up Thanksgiving night as well (also a family tradition).... I love the holidays...weather your tree is fake or real, their always so pretty!
We put ours up the day after Thanksgiving. I can't remember a year year it wasn't up by the end of black friday. It is fake as I hate how fast the trees dry out, and the fire hazard. Perhaps that is just an AZ thing with the dry trees. I love the smell of real tree's though. Perhaps one year we'll get the real thing, but as for now it's perfect.
I believe we will be putting up the tree in the next few days. I really want to put up our lights on the house already. Our neighbors house is so gorgeous and ours is still so plane! I really want to make ours nice this year. Oh yeah...lol our tree is fake but it has the little clear lights already on it..so we just add a string of color and put up the decorations! I can't wait to get into the total holiday spirit...not to mention the days off! lol I think I am super excited this year because df went all out and got me a new digi camera...totally expensive! I can't wait to take a bunch of pictures of us! We havent in so long! lol I feel like a little kid again not wanting to wait to open gifts lol!

Me and DH put our Christmas tree up Thanksgiving night (a tradition for us too motherofan18monthold) It is a fake white one and we have a box of multi-colored ornaments. They're bright pink, green, blue, orange and red. Really bright and fun!! Decided not to put up the lights on the outside this year with some remodeling we're doing to the house. Trying to save as much money as possible!!

we got a real tree saturday nite its up and decorated. i like the smell of them nothing says christmas like the smell of xmas trees theres no snow here where i live in oregon atleast not yet :)
we just put up our fake one yesterday. The smell of pine kills me. We too live in MA and yesterday with the dusting of snow was the perfect day to decorate. This is DH's and I 1st Christmas living together. It was fun to decorate together. We did not decorate a ton but enough to make the house look cheery. Next year we will go all out for Logan.....
We went out to a tree farm for the first time ever. DH cut it down and I dragged it back to the car on a sled. It was snowy and gorgeous outside and we are having our first Christmas in our first house so it's really exciting! If only ttc worked out this cycle it would be the best X-mas ever (I'm not holding my breath, though...). If not, still a good one. :)
We do have a tree (even though I am Jewish, I think it's fun, and Ken isn't Jewish..) Anyway, it is artificial and pre-lit. I think we may decorate it some time this week! I like the holiday season. I think that no matter what your religion/beliefs system is, people are cheerier and a bit nicer this time of year!
I have my tree up, its a fake prelit one and it looks really nice.this year is different then last year, my father passed away last year right after christmas so i am hoping i can make it thru without breaking down.
That place sounds wonderful!!! We don't get snow here. It's rare and when we do it's really a joke but we like it when it happens.

We can only put ornaments about half way down it due to our 18 month old :) But we did put some lights on the bushes outside and around our 1 tree. We also put our snowglobe outside. We also have our HUGE nativity scene up inside along with some santas and nutcrackers. We did this all Thanksgiving weekend.

we live in MA also. yeah the snow was nice yesterday but the winds last night and today reminded me of the tornado on the wizard of oz. i swore my house was going to blow away.
but we picked up our tree last week, as home depot. i wish i would have known about the reindeer and hot cocoa place, i would not have mind driving for that, but maybe i can get the city and address from you and we can start going there when the baby is born and make it a tradition for him. Are the trees nice there? also how much?

we put our tree up thanksgiving night (tradition)! our tree is fake because my mom is allergic to pine...and it is white! we took our son with us last year to pick out a tree and he chose the white one....he kept picking up the these turquoise ornaments and putting them in the cart so we decorated the tree in silver and blue the past 2 years....i think next year im gonna have and old fashioned Christmas so he can help string popcorn,kix, and make salt dough ornaments! haven't got lights up out side yet cause DH has been working overtime the past 2 weeks but were doing that this weekend!
You should do a small tree...last year, I was told I was going to mc about two weeks before Christmas...we hadn't gotten our tree yet and at that point I was soo upset, I didn't want to go get a tree, didn't want to celebrate etc. Well, we had an old cat who was our life and he LOVED Christmas...loved to sit under the tree, drink the tree water, chew on the branches, play with the wrapping paper...even in his old age...WELL, he passed in April after being very sick for a month...I know to some people he is just a cat but he was sooo special to us and we felt bad that he didn't have a last Christmas...Now the point of my story isn't about pets, it is about what if next Christmas never comes...DH and I decided we will NEVER not celebrate/not get our real tree/not do our traditions ever again!
Im not putting up a tree. :( Im not really celebrating it, its not the same doing it alone with no real family celebrating. And its not the same without my hubby here. Im still waiting for our first real christmas together.
We went and got a live one yesterday, let the bows drop overnight and decorated it tonight....It's 9 feet tall! Usually we get it from a parking lot but we went to a tree farm and chopped our own this year......It looked ALOT smaller in the field than it does in the house.....Luckily we have TALL ceilings......It looks awesome but I think we need more ornaments! Now we'll see if it makes it thru the night with the cat.....I love the smell of real....that's why we do that instead of fake!

We have a good ol' fashioned fake tree that is pre-lit. DH doesn't like dealing with the live trees and my cat would probably go berserck!

We went out and bought a new fake tree on Friday, and I put it up on Saturday morning/afternoon. If we had a real tree, my dog would drink from the tree water! She's done it before at my parents and some of our friends house, so I know she would do it here. Our new tree rotates, and I think that's pretty cool.
I have my tree up, and it's fake, but my husband has allergies to the kind of tress I buy for christmas, so it's fake atleast i don't have to water it LMAO

I have a boring fake tree and I hate it. I think I might go get a real one this year. I love the place where you get yours that is just too special!
My son is 13, he said we dont have to put a tree up:( just put his gifts around the coffee table lol. But if we were going to put it up, it wouldve been a fake one we have in the attic.

I am jealous!! I love snow. I live in Seattle and only snows a couple times a year here... but we did put up our tree & lights on the house last weekend. We have a fake one that looks really real. Its the perfect size and I love not having to take care of it! One year when DS is older we'll go get a real one though. He's 10 weeks now and totally digs Christmas lights! Its been a blast w/him...
