OUCH!! pains in my left side! HELP!!

okay ladies... ive been getting a really bad pain in the same spot on the left side of my belly. it only happens at night, when im laying down. its happened about 5 times now. the first 4 times it only last about 1 minute, well last night it happened again and last 45 minutes. it only hurt if i leaned forward, backward, to either side and hurt more when laying down. i actually tried sleeping sitting up... it didnt work so well!! lol  i was thinking that maybe it was gas or something, and it seems like everytime this happens, i have to go pee.... but then when i go... it hurts more. im confused and im not sure if this is serious. i dont see my doctor until friday. has anyone heard of this?? the pain is soooo bad....i feel like im going to almost pass out.

so i went to the doctor.... and he felt my stomach and said everything feels fine. he didnt even do an internal exam on me. he said that it was probably stretching. i really think its something else. i havent had the pain for a couple days.... i guess i'll just hold off and see if it happens again.

im leaning more towards bladder infection right now... but i go to the doctor tomorrow so i'll find out then!! i hope its nothing serious.

To test for stones all you have to do is pee in a cup, and they may check your kidney function with a simple blood test. If you feel like you still have to pee after you have, than it sounds more like a bladder infection.

I was told that the chances for kidney stones do grow when you are pregnant, but if you have a history of them before pregnancy then the chances raise quite high.

If it feels like your giving birth when you pee, or have any bleeding I would def. suggest stones. Im going through them right now, and I tell ya what, id much rather give birth to a 10 pound baby then a itsy bitsy stone lol.

YIKES!! kidney stones?? i sure hope not!!  i see my doc tomorrow, so i guess we will find out then!!   how does the doctor test you for kidney stones or a bladder infection? ive never had either so this is all new to me!!
-and yes, when i go pee i sometimes feel like theres more in there... but nothing comes out. i am also having MAJOR problems with my crotch.... it gets so swollen all the time, at random times. ive pretty much diagnosed myself with having vericose veins. it gets so uncomfortable!!  my first pregnancy was a breeze compared to this one... maybe that means the baby is a boy!!! lol

I have a tendancy to get kidney stones, and what you described sounds like what I go through before the stones fully develope. I also have a bad history of getting kidney infections. Id see your doctor because the stone could actually get stuck and have to be removed.

i bet thats what you have...with me it was like i felt like i had to go to the bathroom every 10 minutes, and then id go and was like thats it?! do you have a weird sensation when you go to? sorry personal, but thats what i had, like it felt like i had to go more and couldnt..im usre your dr will probably think thats what it is too..good luck!!

OMG!!  i never even thought of a bladder infection!! and YES i always feel like i have to pee a ton... and then when i go... its a few drops. haha... its so obvious. that has to be it!! thank you!!!

it could be caused from a uti, sounds just like what i had a few days ago and went to the dr and sure enought i had a bladder infection..ugh..not fun..do you feel like you have to pee a lot? and then only a little comes out? i felt like i had to pee whether i was laying down, standing up, i couldnt walk because it was so bad...

at first i thought maybe it was from stretching too... but it hurts more if i go to the bathroom. like if i have to "fart" or have a bowel movement while the pain is there.... it is excruciating.  it seems like when the pain is there.... i have to go to the bathroom. its weird. i dont really know how to describe it. i'll try to pay more attention tonight... im dreading going to sleep now!! lol

wow i dk if thats normal to when u feel like you may pass out but i have been having a constant pain also its at the bottom of my stomach on the right and i try switching positions it will go away but come back its not unbearable but its is a little painful i was thinking maybe stretching liagments

yes i am just over 5 months pregnant. the pain is lower, id say about 4 inches below my belly button and to the left. it doesnt happen all the time, when it does it my back hurts as well but it is only achey. i can push on my stomach right now and it does not feel sensitive at all. in fact i cant even tell where the pain was. thank you for your input, i truly appreciate it. if you think of anything else, let me know!!! i'll keep you posted.

With pain that bad and lasting that long, I would call the doctor and see what they think.  It could probably be a lot of things- some no big deal, but they could give you some idea and maybe suggest something to do for it.  Hope you feel better.

It could be a UTI infection that has risen to your kidneys or kidney stones.Because you said left of your belly im not sure exactly where you mean but it sounds like what i described when i had a severe kidney infection (pre pregnancy). The pain is definitely terrible. I had to be on strong antibiotics and low grade narcotic pain killers.
Is it just below the lowest ribs and feels alm ost like an intense backache?
Hot water bottle are a godsent. I just kept re-heating every few hours.

ps. Are you pregnant? If so i would go to the doctor immediately, well considering the pain is at pass out point you should probably go sooner anyway.Def. before friday. If it is a kidney infection it will be getting progressively worse. My doctor was mad i left it for two days (of severe pain) before coming in.
