Ovulation after D&C

I was wondering if anyone knew about ovulation after a D&C?  I had a D&C on Mon. 12/10 (1 week ago) and I used an ovulation predictor today and it showed that I was ovulating (or about to)...For some reason I recall having read somewhere that you aren't supposed to ovulate until after your first regular cycle following a D&C.......Does anyone know?  Thanks!  :o)

Thanks for all of the info!  ccw59 - the Doc told us to wait one full cycle, as Gina mentioned......Until then I think that we won;t use protection....When we found the twins w. no heartbeats (reason for D&C), we heard the usual, "It happened for a reason."  "God has a plan for you."  etc. etc...So my hubby and I said that we'll carry on as usual and if we get pregnant before one cycle hits then, ;It happened for a reason."  HAHA!  LOL!  Thanks gals!

I'm so sorry for your loss. I've never had a D&C, but I did have a natural miscarriage on 11/22 and I started Ovulating 2 in a half weeks later on 12/10, so it's very possible to Ovulate soon after a miscarriage. My friend however had a D&C and got pregnant exactly 2 weeks later which means she must have Ovulated 2 weeks after her D&C, so it is definitely possible! I think Doctors want you to wait a full cycle until you ttc again, but your body can definitely Ovulate soon after a miscarriage and D&C. Good Luck!

I am glad you commented on this.  I have been wondering the same.

Sorry for your loss.  I had a D & C on Nov 26th. :(  When are you & your husband going to start trying again??

I've had two miscarriages, one D&C and one natural; and after both, I was only a couple of days off from where I would normally ovulate. It all depends on how much HCG is in your system. Once it is down below 5, you will most probably ovulate within the next few days...and then get your first period again a couple of weeks after that.

I'm very sorry about your loss, but I'm glad your body is getting back on track so quickly. Take care!

wow!  my period was always so regular before and i just assume it would be a little out of whack after the D&C, but it looks like it'll continue to be on schedule, which is good for when we start TTC again!  Thanks so much!

You ovulate before period,as ovulation predicts when you get your period, usually within 16 days.
