PLEASE READ ASAP!!!

okay, as you all know i posted earlier that i am having a d&c tomorrow. well, i dont feel comfortable doing it. i started thinking, i measured 4w5d on the 4th. one week later (yesterday) i measured 5w2d. that would mean it grew like it was supposed to! my levels are still rising like they should...i dont know. i just dont feel right about it. i called my doctor and talked with my nurse. she said that she agrees with me and we should wait. she talked with the doctor and they canceled my surgery tomorrow. i am going to go in tomorrow to get my levels checked again, and i will go for another sono next week sometime.

i just want to be absolutly sure on a d&c before i have it done. i dont want any doubt in my mind. am i crazy? i googled and found that there are so many women 5 and 6 weeks who went for a sono and all they saw was a gest. sac and they went back and week or two later and everything was fine!

please give me your thought ladies. be honest, what do you think?

sorry it took me so long ladies! i ended up having a d&c on the 17th. the baby didnt grow any and we just decided that it was the best thing to do. i am still glad that i waited and had peace of mind about the whole thing.

i go back in march to get Essure done to my tubes. im sad to say that my ttc days are over, but in a weird way its a huge relief. i go back to work tomorrow.

Many doctors dont even see patients until they are at least end of week 5 or beginning of week 6.  I definately also think you should follow your gut feeling and wait.

Have you heard anything back with your results?

According to my last period I should be 7 weeks, but there is always a possibility of late ovulation.

Thank you

Laura - yes, I would wait another 2 weeks...You shouldn't even do the sono before 8 weeks because a lot of people won't have anything visible..I got lucky and we saw a heartbeat at 6 weeks but it is not common!

Olgabb79 - how many weeks are you? If you are before 8 weeks, stay positive and don't worry!!!!!!!!

I am going through the same thing, I had an u/s yesterday due to light spotting - and the tech. said she didn't see anything, no sac - nothing.

I am a little worried due to having a m/c October last year, but I am confident that my little one is in there; just hidding for now.  I have another u/s for next week.  My blood levels are rising, which is a good thing.

Good luck, be positive

Laura1985-  That's great,  however, if I were you, I'd wait a little longer like 2 weeks to do another sono.  It makes you worry more....
Oh my first u/s technician was a total b!tch she wouldn't say anything and basically made me feel like I was lying saying that I was pregnant.  don't trust ultrasound technicians.

thank you all so much for your prayers and kind words! i am so glad i am waiting too!

i went in this am for more blood work and will have the results on monday am. my nurse said "just between you and i, i dont care for the woman who does the sonos. she is always too negative. i think everything is just fine. you wouldnt even see a yolk sac at this point."

sooooo, i go back in on weds for another sono and my nurse is gonna be in there with me and dh. even if there isnt a ys, but it has grown, we are going to still wait and see what happens. if it is still growing then there is something right going on. i am just trying to stay positive. whatever happens, i am okay with. i just wanna make sure that i have peace of mind.

My Re refuses to do U/S until 6 weeks after conception, which put me at 8 weeks, he said that anything earlier than that was just a waste of money. AND cause for much un~needed anxiety. I am glad your waiting it out. Somthing about your story just kept grabbing me, I hope this is you miracle!

Your not crazy at all, I was one of the ones telling you to wait. AND REMEMBER:

Ultrasounds are typically as much as a week off. it's normal. :)

Your not crazy, a lot of women dont get the d&c and just wait to see if there body will do it naturally, and there is nothing wrong with that.  And yes, there is always the fact of misdiagnosis.

To me it sounds like they are freaking out over something that is very natural.  Not everyone develops the same way.  At least wait until 8 weeks to do anything, by then you should know the status of the baby.
I had a miscarriage in the summer and I went in to get the pregnancy confirmed on what I thought was 6 weeks and they didn't see anything in the u/s and my hcg levels were very low like 4 weeks.  So I ended up having a miscarriage. I was having cramps from the begining.
With this pregnancy I went in at 6 weeks, I did not get hcg levels drawn and then went back a week later for an u/s and the baby meassured right on target, heart the heartbeat and all.  I haven't had any cramps from the begining and I haven't had any bleeding or any morning sickness or anything. if I hadn't gotten a u/s I wouldn't believe it.  Here I am 16 weeks.
Most women don't get hcg levels drawn nor do they get ultrasounds so early if they did they'd all be freakig out because babies develop at slightly different rates, and sometimes the dates vary.
So, if your dates are correct and your hcg is doubling and you don't have any cramps or bleeding or anything.  Then I think you are on the right path to a sucessful pregnancy.  don't jump into a D&C if there's something wrong your body will do it naturally.

I did think it was strange you were having a D&C so soon, and I'm glad you decided to wait and see.  If it is truly not meant to happen, then this will give your body time to work on its own.  And if the baby is fine in there, you'll have given it a chance to grow more and be ready for the big debut on the next ultrasound.

I hope everything works out for you!  Please keep us updated!

I think you are doing what you should be. The other day when I read your first post I thought the exact same thing you are thinking now. I didn't say anything then as you seemed to sure about your decision & I didn't want to push my opinion on that.
Good for you! I will be sending you lots of love and positive energy!

I agree.  I would TOTALLY wait.  It is just too early for that.

I am so glad that you chaged your mind!

they have me on 200mgs of progestrone 2x a day, and a 40 mg shot of lovenox blood thinner a day. with my other pregnancies, i spotted from the very beginning. i have not spotted at all or cramped with this one. i have never made it this far along before. i have been reading stories all over the net about women who were told the same thing (gest sac but no yolk sac or heartbeat), waited, and everything worked out. if i still have to have a d&c, thats fine.

i just want to be sure and not have a doubt in my mind. this isnt something for me to be non chalant about. this is a BABY for crying out loud! at least if in a week im in the same position, ill have peace of mind.

I agree, you need to wait, the baby is growing and it is still pretty early to see a heartbeat.
I hope everything turns out great for you!!
