PPD

I have postpartum depression and im 33 weeks pregnant
I havn't yet talked to my doctor to 100% confirm this but i have been so depressed for 3 weeks now
i can't seem to shake it
does anyone have any suggestions ?

did you recently have a baby before you got pregnant!? If not then i would just say your depressed! I think you have to already have the baby to have post partum depression hun! This could be your hormones but you really need to talk with your doc..im not sure if he can prescribe any meds for you right now..,but he may be able to!! Good luck

I looked it up on the internet and in a libray and it says you can get PPD during and after your pregnancy but thanks away i will contact my doctor asap

They actually call it prepartum depression if its while you are pregnant. My best friend had it while pregnant and was able to take meds.  By all means talk to you doctor, it does happen!

You really do need to talk to your doc about this.  H/She will discuss your options and any risks associated.  IF the depression is bad enough then it's well worth taking medication to control it.  Otherwise your doc may keep you off meds until right after delivery and put you on something.  There are meds that are safe to take if you choose to breastfeed.  I suffer from depression but mine is not severe enough to need meds during my pregnancy....I just deal with it, but I immediately go back on after.  Please talk to your doc.   Whatever you and your doc decide as a course of treatment, you will feel so much better having talked to someone about it.
