Pap at 30 weeks! and bleeding afterwards!!!

So I finally found a midwife that'll take me at this stage and in the new state I live in, yay! SHe decided to do aaaall the testing again, cause I told her of the little "incident" with the urine test I had and she decided to not trust them at all LOL (I would have done exactly the same). She did do a pap test on me (I haaaate pap tests) so that was a little uncomfortable. She told me I bled a little but it was probably cause of the brush she used, but she also said that my cervix area was a little "swollen" and that it might not be anything but just an infection. She gave me a prescription for metrogel for 5 days and told me she would call me if something bad came in the results. Now some of you know I'm paranoid to the EXTREME so I'm strting to think from things like stds, to having some bad case of HPV that they didn't found out at my last pap (April). So what do you girls think? She did say that women develop varicose veins in their vaginas when pregnant so it can be that too. I just hope its nothing bad like having to have a hpv biopsy when pregnant or something! I really didn't have any other symptom so I don't know what can this be :-( Like I said, if its not one thing its the other!

To AshelenThank you for your imput! Yeah last time when I got a pap done it came out clear. I did get some abnormal cell results around 3 or even 4 years ago, and they told me it was high risk hpv, but when they took them out they saw it was nothing and then my subsequent paps were clean. I hope this one comes clean too! I'm going to get the metrogel today.

Victoria01, thank you! I was so excited when I found her, she's such a great lady, very down to earth and the best part is that the hospital I'll give birth to is only 10 mins away from my home. I even told her about the whole fiasco with the marijuana thing and she told me they probably did a mistake and that it was good that I got tested again to prove them wrong. I'm going on Friday to pick up my medical records and tell them I'm never coming back again

Atia_Julii: Thanks! I just got paranoid because I'm 30 weeks already, almost 31. Most of the cases I see online of women bleeding with paps while they are pregnant is when they are just a few weeks along, I haven't seen anyone doing it during their third trimester. Then again, why would they, right?

The bleeding is very common after a pap. My OB warms me every time they do anything internal that there may be a little bleeding. As Ashelen said, your swollen cervix is probably just an infection.

I am glad you found a new midwife and it sounds like she is taking good care of you. :)

I wouldn't worry too much about the swollen cervix...they told me my cervix was very swollen and VERY red when I was 12 1/2 weeks and spotting....and it turned out to just be a normal (albeit bad) infection. All my STD and HPV tests came back clear, so it was just an outgrowth of bacteria... if you have no reason to suspect an STD or HPV (and I'm sure they're running tests, right?) then I wouldn't worry :). They treated mine and it went away after about a week... my body had a hard time fighting it off though and I was absolutely wiped for energy for a long time...but I wouldn't worry too much it's pretty easy to treat :) (and I definitely spotted after the cervical scrape they gave me, lol).

I had a Pap done while 9 and a half weeks pregnant and bled like crazy! I was totally freaked out and sure I was miscarrying.  Well, I had an ultrasound done right afterwards and everything with the baby was fine.  I'm now 16 weeks and things are still going well.  My OB said that pregnant women have so many veins on their cervix during pregnancy, and sometimes those are hit during the pap smear.  I wouldn't worry.
