Period is a week late but negative blood test and preg tests. PLEASE ADVISE
My period is late, but i have tested negatvie on the tests mentioned in the title. My midwife, when I was telling her everything that I had been feeling, said I will be shocked if you arent pregnant when she was taking my blood for the test. Well she said that I do not have any of the HCG or progesterone in my blood. I am confused. Could I still be pregnant???? I mean I have heard of women that have tested negative and still be pregnant. Could that be the case. My husband and I are TTC. I thought my periods were back to normal after having 3 months of a steady cycle after getting off of BC back in FEB. Could i still be pregnant? And does the amount of Progesterone differ with each month. I mean why would I have it last the last 3 months and not have it now?
Yeah, thats seems like the best idea. I mean I am not stressing over it cause I want a baby, but I know that I am not tricking my body into thinking its pregnant cause I have no other symptoms except fatigue, late period, and I feel wet all the time and it seems that the amount of discharge is increasing. But all in all i am pretty relaxed.
Hi, I took a test after being late one week, negative... 2 weeks later with still no period I took another and It was positive! When I asked my doctor she said my hormone levels just weren't high enough to show a positive result. I'd say wait another week or two and try another test :)
I don't have any pregnancy signs except for a missed period. I will just wait and see. I just talked to 3 other people and they said that they did not get a positive test (blood) until they were about 6wks and on of the 3 who just found out she is pregnant and she is 3 months. So I don't know if I can really belive any test until i either get my period or start having other symptoms.
Beta hcg tests test the level where as just a qualitative will say yes or no and that is if your level is based on like 10 and above. In which case a pregnancy test could possibly come up before the blood test if it is sensitive enough. However, most of the time they do beta tests when testing for blood and since your level is supposed to double every 48-72 hours it doesn't take long to get above 10.
Blood tests are rarely wrong. Especially when they're a beta test. hCG levels are hard to be wrong because it an actual count. Thinking you're pregnant, and wanting to be can cause a whole load of symptoms and none of them be real. Have another test done if you really think you are or see if you can get an ultrasound.
I did some research and it says that blood test can be wrong. I dont have any other symtoms yet, but I also don't have any of my period symptoms either. I have very distinct period symptoms. Nothing. I really hope that I am pregnant. Thats would just be amazing. thanks for all the answers.
Well it can happen cause it happened to me last month. I was getting positive hpts since 11dpo but the two blood tests I had at 11dpo and 14dpo came back negative - I was so confused. It wasn't till 17dpo that my blood test finally came back positive. I still can't work out how this happened as blood tests are meant to be more sensitive than hpts. I would suggest having another blood test in a few days just in case.
But thats the issue, My cycles were regular. I had a couple months after getting off the pill that I did not have a period, but then after that, it came every month on the dot till now. One of my fiends told me that her sis had a blood test that cam oue negatvie even though she was 3 months pregnant. And I feel pregnant. I did not get any of the symptoms that I normally get a week before my period like cramping and sore nipples. I just don't know.
If you get a negative pregnancy urine test there are times that you could still be pregnant but just tested to early. If you get a negative blood test then it means that you are not pregnant because they are testing the actual hormone in your blood. It can take months after getting off BC for your cycles to become completely regular again.
