Hi,
I found out I was pregnanct almost 2 weeks ago and had some light pink spotting 5 days ago.  I think I should be around 5-6 wks pregnant now, but when I woke up this morning I had bright red blood on my underwear.  I went to the ER terrified and they did an u/s with blood work.  My HCG levels came back as 46.7 (which are low for 5-6 wks).  They told me that they could NOT see anything on the u/s but that could be because of my low HCG levels and that it may be too early in the pregnancy still or that I could be having a m/s.  They also told me that my cervix was still closed, which is a good sign.  Has anyone had anything like this and still had a healthy baby?  I am scheduled to have another set of blood work done in 2 days to compare by levels.  Any feedback would be great as I am trying to stay positive.  Thank you.

Bleeding in the first trimester could be a reason to concern or it could be only bleeding from your cervix ,,that will clear up by itself , but still , go and see a doctor.  please let us know how things are with and the baby .

Definitely call your doc. They can do an u/s and see if anything is going on like a small bleed and check baby. Sometimes women can bleed in the first trimester and things turn out just fine, other times it's not so good. Please let us know.

I had bleeding at 5 weeks and a little over 11 weeks. It turned out that I had placenta previa which was causing the bleeding.

As soon as I saw the blood I rushed to the ER, there was no waiting around with me.  Although bleeding/spotting could be nothing it is always worth it to get it checked out.

Call your doctor now!
