Possible Protein-S Deficiency

I am 23 weeks pregnant, and my Dr has me on 40mg Lovenox daily. I have been taking it close to 2 months now, without any followup blood work. I am on Lovenox because earlier in my pregnancy they discovered I MIGHT have a Protein-S deficiency. They just say to keep taking the injections. Should I get a "second opinion"?

I've taken lovenox with my last two pregnancies(am pregnant and on it now) and there are no blood tests needed. It's a really really good blood thinner with virtually no side effects. As long as you pinch up enough fat, you shouldn't feel the needles all that much. The drug doesn't cross the placenta so it does no harm at all to the baby.

Well I also took Lovenox during my last pregnancy and it is really a give and take situation. I hated taking the shots and had bruises every time I had to give myself a shot and it totally hurt but I have a clotting disorder and doctors thought it was best for me to take it just in case. I think that wouldn't it be better to be safe than sorry? I would definitely say bring it up to your doctor again if you really can't stand the shots and maybe they will be able to advise you on what to do next.
