Pregnancy after mirena

I removed my mirena myself the night of december 27. That same night I had sex. I've had sex a couple times since with the intent to get pregnant. Problem is with mirena I had no periods. Therefore I don't know when I'm ovulating. I had my iud for about 3 1/2 years. Should I expect to be pregnant? When should I test? I kinda wanted to have a baby in october if I can time it. This would be my first pregnancy. Can anyone help me out with this? I was told after removal you could get pregnant immediately.

My lining doesn't seem to be thin. Before mirena I had heavy periods and what I thought to be a lot of discharge. When I did have spotting on mirena it was thick mucousy slime. Sorry for being so open. My normal periods before I could see all the lining come out and with mirena I saw the same just no bleeding outside of the mucous.

Ive been preg 3 times since mirena removed in June. We are now 5 weeks preg anx everything seems to be going well. I already have a 2 year old and he has a 13 and 10 year old. So we r VERY excitex. U also have to remember the mirena thins ur uterus so it will need time to thickin back up and get normal ovulation goin. My dr put me on folic acid to help with all of that. Good luck!!

I was hoping to be the lucky one it only took a month to conceive. I love October and wanted to be due then. I know you can't determine everything but still a wish! And I don't feel like I have anyone to talk to about it because I don't know other people who are in my position. But on here there are people who have been there so they get it!

Oh and I have an appointment jan 5th so I'll tell the dr I did it. It didn't hurt but I removed it very slowly paying very close attention to what my body was telling me. Was painful putting it in!

Patience is a must when trying to get pregnant. Give your body time to get back to normal. You will not feel anything in your female parts...you will know something is going on with your body.

So this morning I felt cramps like I was gonna start but I haven't. In fact I haven't spotted or bled at all since I removed my mirena. For people who have been pregnant do you get any sensations in your female parts?

I had my mirena removed in June. I conceived December 2. It took me 6 months. It may have been sooner but I had a d&c in November and they removed a pollyp. I think that is what was keeping me from conceiving.

It took me 10 months to conceive after removal. I didn't have a period while I had the mirena and it took a few months to return...then my cycles were all over the place and it was impossible to know when I was ovulating. Things finally got back to normal around 8 months after and I started acupuncture.

It is different for everyone. I would be a little concerned since you removed it yourself. You might want to see your doctor and make sure everything is fine.

Best Wishes to you.

I conceived 5 months after having mine removed but we didn't really start trying until a few months after removal. I was concerned about cycles returning after a delay after estrogen-based bc but am not sure I needed to worry. I'm just a neurotic planner. :)

I didn't have periods but did have a bit of spotting occasionally. I never looked in to it too closely but my understanding is that the mirena can stop ovulation for some but not for others? Perhaps someone else here knows more.

Wait.. why would u remove mirena on ur own?? Not good! Anyways I hadd it for 2 years.. got it removed in aug 2010.. found out I was pregnant july 2011 so almost 1 yr it took me to get pregnant.. jus know that just bcuz others got pregnant fast doesn't mean u will.. everyones different... n I'm sure takin it out on ur own doesn't make ur chances any better... when the time is rite it'll happen... sometimes it takes a while for ur body to get bak to normal esp after all those hormones mirena produces.. don't rush.. n don't get ur hopes up..

Also did you have periods while having iud? And did you know if you were ovulating? I'm so confused cause I haven't had a period so I don't know when I'm ovulating.

I had my IUD removed Sept 14, and I conceived Oct 13. I'm 13 weeks and 3 days and so far, so good. I had mine in for 5 years. From what I understand, you have to be at least a month along before a store bought test shows up positive. Good luck!
