Pregnancy after muscarriage

Hi all,
My gf experienced a miscarriage 3 weeks ago and it was a very difficult experience although we weren't necessarily ready to have a baby.
We have resumed our sex life but we have both agreed that we shouldn't have a baby. Her body doesn't respond well to many forms of birth control.
So we decided that we'll use ovulations test before intercourse to predict her ovulations period. What's the range on the tests? In other words, she took the test Sunday afternoon and we had sex Minday night. She wasn't ovulating Sunday, is there a possibility that she was ovulating Monday?
If she takes the test today (Tuesday) and it's negative, does it mean she wasn't ovulating last night?
Thanks

I took a ovulation test and it never showed positive... but here I am 31 1/2 wks pregnant.    They are sometimes really hard to read.  Your best option if you don't want a baby is to use birth control and a condom.   There are lots of kinds out there to choose from.

oh ya and i was using the ovulation test too and they to me are hard to read. but if it was not showing on the ov test it could mean that her ovulation could take a little to get back to normal. women could also ovulate 5-7 days after their periods stops if you didnt know that.

Normally when you get a positive test is means you are ovulating now or will be within the next 24-48 hours. There's really no way to know and pinpoint the exact time of ovulation. Keep in mind if you plan on having unprotected sex because sperm can live inside a woman for 5-7 days, so when and if an egg is released the sperm are on "stand by" waiting to fertilize it. This can happen days after having intercourse.

all i could say is that she should use the first morning urin because its the strongest because the hormones are bulied up more then through out the day. after a m/c a women's body goes through that it could take a while to get back to normal like some women could get pregnant right away and like me for instance ti took me 4 months just to get pregnant after my m/c last year back in july. and currently im 19w1d.
