Pregnant, vicoden and very worried.

Hi, I'm 26 weeks pregnant with my first child and have been abusing pain pills for 4 years now,  Any i can get my hands on, vicoden, oxycoten. In a average day I take vic's a day. I'm not perscribed and buy them on the street. I'm so worried what i have dont to my son, the ultrasounds look fine and the doctor says he is perfect, he does not know about my problem. I'm scared to death that they will take my baby away and put me in jail, this is killing me. I love my baby and dont know what to do. If there is anybody out there that has been through this or know someone who has please let me know. I have a world of judement on me.

I would be more concerned with the damage you are doing to your liver, I am also pregnant and suffer from chronic pain, my obgyn told me narcotics have little effect on the baby right up until before delivery, then they should be avoided, of course I am perscribed the mediction and take it as directed, please contact motherrisk.org, they have a number you can call to speak with someone about the potential damage done to your baby, and tell your dr, if he or she is a great and compassionate dr they should not pass judgement, only want to help you and your baby..good luck

Your baby will go thru withdrawl when he's born...if you tell someone they can be ready for it and treat him accordingly.  of course there is a chance that there could be some long term damage done to the baby.  U/S only show physical development, not brain function.  You need to let your  Dr. know NOW!.....And you need help for yourself as well.....You need to be healthy for your baby....even after you have him

you really, really need to let your doctor know; if they can't help you with your addiction they can at least refer you to someone who can; this is for your own safety as well as your unborn child's; a lot of painkillers (vicodin, percocet, etc) contain large amounts of
Tylenol which can be very dangerous to the liver
