Pregnant? Or period trying to regulate after pregnancy?

I'm going to try to explain this the best I can.. I gave birth to my Daughter in October of 2013 she was a 33 weeker. 3 days after I had her I was put on the depo shot, after the 3 months of it running out so did my insurance so I wasn't able to get back on birth control. Me and my husband have never used protection. We just use the "pull out" method.. 7 months after I had my daughter I still hadn't had my period and my girl friends started scaring me saying I may be pregnant again so I took a pregnancy test and it came back negative, a few days after that I had finally received my period.. I'm a month late now, and I didn't know whether to worry and buy a pregnancy test or if this was just my period trying to regulate itself.. But then for the past 4-5 days I've had that "brown discharge" most of you mommies know about and now I'm really nervous.. Could this be my period trying to regulate itself, or is there a possibility I could be pregnant.. again.. I just really don't want to have to buy another pregnancy test just for it to come up negative, again.  Desperate for answers.. Thanks in advance.

Thank you everyone for y'alls input. I've read these over with my husband and we've both agreed we're going to get a pregnancy test next week just to be safe.

Sometimes after stopping depo, it can completely mess your cycle up. I got on the shot back when my daughter was 7 months and she'll be 3 next month. I only got one and it was over a year later when I finally got my period back and then when I got it back, it was very irregular. Like it would only come every 3 or 4 months maybe longer. I had a period back in March and found out in May that I was pregnant. Depo really messed up my cycle and I would never use it again! Hope you get some answers soon!

I've heard the depo shot can really mess with your body. But I would buy a test to just make sure you weren't prego. You can buy them at a dollar store.

Buy a pregnancy test from dollar tree. My doctor told me those are better than the expensive test and best of all they're only $1!

When you get a depo things can get tricky. I never had problems but an ex boss of mine went on the demo for 9 months and had to get fertility treatments because her cycle never went back to normal. Take a test to be sure and you could always find an income based or free clinic and consult a doctor

Your first period should have regulated you out. I would go buy a test and take one asap! Since you say your late on your period then it should be accurate.

I would get a test n wait a week. I had the same problem with the insurance n I had the depo shot right after my son was born. We dont use protection either n used the same method I'm sorry but in ended up pregnant I know its probably not what you wanna here but it sounds like a pregnancy.
