i have been taking them for 4 years now doc told me to continue
other vitimans can be bad for you when you are pregnant as to much of some are bad for the baby
Thanks everyone! I didn't see how they'd be harmful while not pregnant, but when someone tells you that they might, you just want to be cautious. I buy my prenatals from Sam's Club so I have a TON and I'd hate to just throw them out when I could be using them and bettering my health.
Thanks again! If anyone else has insight or info, please continue to post.
I don't think they are harmful. As weird as this sounds my brother in law takes them because they make his hair fuller and have more shine. They are all vitamins that are good for you so I don't see how taking them could be bad.
I dont think they could be harmful. My doctor told me after my son I could take them as long as I wanted and when I went for my yearly they told me to continue to take some kind of vitamins with folic acid as long as able to concieve (or try) I would continue to take them.......
also prenatal means preceding birth.
I stopped breastfeeding seven months ago. Hmmmm... looks like it's time for some research! LOL!
...me again! I found this online:
"Continuing to take prenatal vitamins while breastfeeding is a good idea to make sure you're getting essential vitamins and minerals. Most women can get all necessary vitamins and minerals from food if they're eating a well-balanced diet. But that can be hard to do when you're taking care of a baby, a home, and perhaps a career as well."
Take care!
i was told to take them until my 6 week check up. At that appointment, even though I was breastfeeding, I was advised to stop taking them. I dont know why though.
Yeah, that doesn't make any sense. I'm taking it while ttc, and it was recommended by my doctor. It's basically a multivitamin with extra folic acid, so I can't see why that would be harmful.
i thought if you were ttc then you should take them before you get pregnant... but then also while you are pregnant and also afterwards if you are breastfeeding. i never thought they could be harmful!
