Prescription safe for pregnancy?

My doctor noticed yeast when she did my lab work from my physical. The blood work was negative for pregnancy but it was early so I still could be pregnant. She called in a prescription for the yeast infection and it is only one pill. Can I assume it is safe to take the pill? I am afraid she is assuming I'm not pregnant so may not have worried about it, and she isnt the smartest doctor to be honest. I have an appointment with a new doc Monday, should I wait and check with them or just wait for the results from that appointment to come back next week? I'm afriad since it is only one pill it is going to be kinda strong and I know you are only supposed to use certain things for yeast infections.

Diflucan sounds REALLY familiar. I havent picked it up yet because I have been feeling kinda sick. I'm definately going to ask my pharmasist and dr before I take it.

The pill you take for yeast  is usually diflucan and it is strong...i know its not safe to take during pregnancy because my Dr would not perscribe it to me. There are other creams that you can take that are safe though. Maybe give your Dr a call stating your concerns before you take the pill.

Yeah, sometimes I feel like we know more about pregnancy than they do sometimes. I also hate that question. I was there 3 times in a month and each time "could you be pregnant" duuuuuh I was TTC a week ago, so take a guess

I know what you mean.  I hate when they ask "Is there a possibilty you could be pregnant?"  Well duh!  I'm TTC, aren't I?  There's always a possibility.  Then they test you and if it's negative they follow through with the prescriptions.  My questin is even if it came back negative that doesn't mean I'm definitely not pregnant.  It may just mean it's too early to test (because the doctors I've gone to just test with a HPT.  I've never had blood drawn).  Oh well.  I guess they know what they're doing.

When you go get the prescription ask the pharmacist what he thinks.  Sometimes I think pharmacist's know more than the doctors when it comes to meds anyway.  :-)
