Question(s) About Leaking Amnio Fluid

I've heard so many different things when it comes to your bag of waters breaking.

Here is my scenerio:
I went to L&D last night due to constant cramping, which they said are irritable contractions...coming every so many minutes, but not producing any change...and they checked my cervix and told me I was 1cm dilated (Im 31wks) and my slides looked clear of any infections. Now today I feel 'wet' and when I check my panty liner it is clear and there is no odor to the discharge.

I've heard that if your water did break it would gush or be a constant trickle that a panty-liner wouldn't be able to hold and that it would smell sweet. Is that all true?

So when my water broke both times I knew.  OMG I knew....  LOL...  With my daughter I was in the shower, and not in direct water, my water broke, it was a tinted yellow with some blood, of course you know it could have been clear lmao but our tub is tinted slight yellow....SO who knows.  I didn't leak any more what so ever...  Otherwise my pants would have been wet, and the stretcher they put me on to get to the hospital.....Of course the hospital didn't believe me, and when I got into the room her head was THROUGH!!!  LOL  

With my son, I was standing in line in the hospital cafeteria... I had just gone to the bathroom, so I know it wasn't pee...but once again there was some blood.  Got off the elevator and had my son in the hall...Fun there!  

They were both early...  My daughter was 34w1d spent 14 days in the NICU and my son was 35w and spent 10 days in the NICU  

I dialate early and super fast, and too uick of a labor that this time I am not likely to make it there.  Haha, well if my water breaks at home, I definately wont make it there because it'll happen in 10 mins.,

Anywho....  Call your doctor, or go into L&D and demand a fibronectin test!  That's a test to check if your going into labor in the next 2 weeks.  It's a little strip of paper, that they swab the inside of your vagina with, and it picks up the proteins that happen when your about to go into labor...

Oh and when my water broke with my two others, it sounded like a balloon popping, well a pin popping a balloon under water.

When you water brakes (or more like when mine broke) the water ran down my legs and reached my feet. I cleaned up that was around 9:30am and then at around 10:30am I got another bit of liquid that filled up my pad. Pretty much the water did not stop until I delivered. Just leaking of water every now and then.

I would say if your water broke a panty liner wouldn't be enough for it.

Also when I was pregnant I would get clear liquids on my underwear all the time and I just think it's normal.  

Hopefully it isn't your water that is braking you still have so many more days to go. Hopefully you can carry your baby full term. Good luck!!!!

LOL they say that it is so easy to tell when your water breaks (yeah right) BUT LORD i cant remember how many times i have gone in to L&D when i was preggo with my daughter bc I was just not sure..... Never ended up to be my water breaking but its so hard to tell... If you think it could possibly be your water then go in and have them check, its a really simple test and they do it pretty quickly! better safe than sorry I always say

I would go get tested, i think they can do a simple test to see if it amniotic fluid or not and wether you will go into labout in the next 72 hours

Rosa~ You know... I don't get how some women want to go several weeks before they're due date.  I'm not bashing you or anything. I just know my son was born at 35w5d and was in the NICU for over a month. I'd have given anything not to go thru that.  :)

im not sure if this is true or not but that is what they say! Usuaally it would still trickel out though!! THats what they have told me previsouly!! That and that it kinda smells like javex! I dont know though but i have to say NO FAIR....lol.im 37 weeks and still not doing anything and i want my baby out nowwww!! lol...at least you know your going somewhere with hope that youll last until your 37 week!! good luck and keep me posted...btw did you call your doc and ask them what they thought where you had cramping last night? they may want to check you again!
