I had a bad cold several weeks ago and my doctor as well as the pharmacist had told me to take sudafed for it! It seemed to clear it up quickly!
i just had to ask my dr. this question yesterday, because I think I am getting the flu..My doc said I can take plain robutussin, benadryl...anything that does not contain aspirin or ibuprofen....I hope this helps
i had a sore throat the other day and i found that sucking on mints helps ease it...also hot beverage ( i drank decaf coffe )....congrats and best of luck to you
Tylenol brand things are generally ok, although if you call your dr's office, usiually there's a nurses line that can answer those questions. Each dr seems to have a different "safe" list of things to take. Next time your in, you may want to ask for the general "safe" meds list. For all 3 pregnancies (3 different dr's) they all had a list safe stuff to take, with specific symptoms. Tynol Cold and Synus (sp), has been on both lists, however they don't make it anymore, so theres Tynol Cold or Tynol Synus.
Thanks, i think i might have to do a little of all of those. I tried the vicks last night but my nose was so stuffed that it didnt really work. I took tylenol this morning at like 5am and that helped a little but i need my nose to be clear cause since its not my throat gets worse cause thats how im breathing when i sleep. But thanks, i know i should stay away from meds and i try to, i never really took anything with my daughter, even when i got headaches, i never took tylenol. But since we moved and the weather its been killing me. Thanks!
well first of all I recommend gargling with salt water...as warm as you can stand it and as salty as you can stand it...and breathe in a steam/netty pot. you can use a small amount of vicks vapor rub, which might help....but gargling and steam is your best friend right now. you can use saline drops in your nose.
I was sick as heck for my entire first trimester on and off with respiratory gunk, and I know you can take things like tylenol cold...but I would avoid it if I were you.
you can also use unmedicated (eucalyptus and menthol) cough drops, but avoid cough syrup. they say you can take robitussin DM but it makes you a bit jittery and who can afford to be jittery when you're exhausted all the time? lol
but yeah my favorite thing to do was get in the bathtub, turn the shower head so it was spraying on the wall, and turn the water on really warm....it won't affect the baby because you're not immersing in it, but you get a really nice little steam going and it'll help you feel better for a little bit.
