It TOTALLY FREAKED me out. Hurt?? no. it didn't hurt. no more than any other needle. don't watch it happen & take someone with you.
No it does not... Its more nerve racking than anything else, it lasts just a couple of seconds and bedrest is very important! Good luck!
I had one done at 20 weeks and it hurt but no more than when they draw blood it wasn't horrible. I think the fear of miscarriage was way worse than the pain of the amnio the week of bedrest afterwards was pretty annoying too!
I had one at 34 weeks and i was on morphine bc of other complications and i felt it. Its uncomfortable but its very fast. I agree w the above poster please outweigh the benefits to the risks.
