women should start taking raspberry leaf tea at around 36 weeks to get the best benefit from it, but def start taking it now :)
Thanks Stacey! I'm not expecting this to put me in labour but at least I want to contract & hopefully thinner my cervix. This so cool I'll try it!;)
raspberry leaf works by tonning and strenghtening the uterus, so when you do start contractions your uterus contracts properly, ie it gets the job done more efficently, its like going to the gym and working on one muscle group so to speak, if you dont like the flavoue of the tea you can put honey in it, you will need to drink around 5 cups a day, the tablets can be easier to take or you can use a combination of both, evening primrose can help with starting contractions as well
thanks ladies for all ur reply! i really appreciate it:)
I started drinking it around 39 weeks I think and my baby was 12 days overdue. It doesn't soften cervix but it promotes the health of your uterus and many other things. They say it helps your labour and is good to take even afterward.
To soften your cervix you can start taking evening primrose oil (orally or vaginally), vaginally is more effective. Semen also softens the cervix. And large amounts of fresh pineapple.

it tastes horrible and didnt work for me so def wasnt worth it! (for me anyway!)
Hi, I never drank the tea as the first cup I had I didnt like it. I took the tablets from 38 weeks with my 2nd pregnancy. The studies are so few that it hasnt conclusively shown it sends ladies into labour and in my case with my 2nd baby it didn't, it didn't even thin my cervix or make me dilate any. But....I will say that the 3 children I have now my 2nd labour was the easiest and least traumatic of the 3 and he was my biggest baby too. Not saying it definitely was but the raspberry tablets I took may have played a big part in it. I will be 37 weeks on Tuesday with my 4th baby and I plan to take them again to help with the labour if nothing else. I'd say give it a try! Good luck!
