Reasons for going into labor.....

Has anyone gone into labor cause your baby ran out of room? I mean this might sound rediculous. I don't know. But at 31wks she measured 5lb 2 oz, 90th percentile. At 33wks my fundal height  was 40. I'm only 4'11. I dont know how much more my body can take. I'm 34wks now. I am supposed to have a c section at 39wks. I don't think I will make it until then. What do you ladies think?

my baby's on the 95th centile, i'm 5 ft 5 and had a horrendous delivery with my last baby, who only measured on the 70th and 90th (head) centiles at birth. he was stuck and i had to have a ventouse. i had not had an epidural and pethidine did nothing for me. i've got a soft cervix, have been feeling pressure for weeks, have had an unusual increase in discharge over the past week or two ( no infection ) i have leaked a watery fluid and bled in the past week and a half. oh, i've also lost lots of clear/white jelly substance ( no blood in it ). and my instincts say baby will be early. well, after peicing all this together i just phoned the midwives at my local hospital who have said not to be concerned until i'm contracting. well, that's great...at only 29 1/2 weeks it may be too late to stop the labour by then. sorry to vent on your post, am just a tad annoyed.

why not before 39 weeks? and why would they HAVE to do an amnio? i didn't have an amnio, and i was induced 10 days early, which was something around 38 weeks and some days?

It's very possible. When a baby becomes too big the uterus could have too much pressure on it causing labour. My doctors have been concerned for a while about my going into labour early. Thankfully I am now 36 weeks and my doctors are just waiting. But I was told it is very likely I will go into labour within the next 2 weeks because of how big baby is and how small I am. I am only 4'11 and at my 36 week appointment my uterus was measuring 39.5 and baby is estimated around 7.5lbs already. I would talk to your doctor and hear what s/he has to say. Mom knows best.. go with your gut!

They don't want to schedule a c section before 39wks cause then I would have to have a amnio, and the last amnio i had with my first daughter at 37wks made me sicker than a dog and in so much pain. Let's just say it was so traumatic i dont want to do it again. But they told me that if I go into labor early they will just do my c section then.
I know labor takes a while usually, but I am also scared cause I live 2 hrs away from the hospital, driving time. But even with me going to the local hospital and flying me out, like they said they would. It would still take like a hr probably to get the helicopter and fly. The hospital here is NOT in any way shape or form capable of delivering me

I just had an ultra sound and my dr told me that there is a chance that the if your baby is too big, or heavy for your uteris, that you could go into labor. He was tellling me that because he thinks it might happen to me, it just depends on what your body can handle.

Can you schedule your c-section for earlier? If you are concerned that the baby is already so big...honestly it is quiet big!
My baby at 32 weeks was only 4 pounds...I am 5'2 and my stomach doesn't look all that big but I don't think I will be able to carry such a huge baby till 39 weeks!! What does the doc say? You know at 37 weeks, you will be full-term, so technically, they can do a c-section then?
