Red wine while pregnant?

I have never heard of this, being able to drink a glass of red wine a day, untill me and my fiance were walking down the alcohol isle at the groccery store and the topic came up, I then went to Google but was just confused on the answers. Would anyone know anything about it?

I heard it wasn't a glass a day but a glass a week was ok…

I don't think a glass a day would be good at all. I was told by my midwife that if I was having a lot of braxton hicks contractions that I could have half a glass of red wine to help calm things down. I have yet to try it because this being my third pregnancy I've never heard of it. I do know that in a lot of European countries they still drink wine with meals while pregnant.

Red wine is not safe during pregnancy especially not a glass a day.

The thing is with alcohol there is no known safe amount so its best to avoid it while pregnant, I know of women who have had the odd glass here and there during pregnancy but 1 glass a day, no I dont think that I would risk it
