Remedy Please???

Hi All!  So I'm 6 weeks today......For the past 48 hours I've had such a sour stomach....feels like acid is creeping up my esophagus into my mouth....I've tried everything (I think) that I've seen posted on here - TUMS, milk...Is there anything else?  Is this even pregnancy related this soon?  I've NEVER had this before so I have to assume it is, but it seems silly this early on.....It kept me awake ALL night last night...I felt like I wanted to throw up just to get it out!

Thanks for the info...I'll check around for the Andrews stuff......I'll try GNC (health store) or the Food Co-Op......TUMS seem to work a little but not completely and of course I have the fruit ones!

It's brand we have over here, they might just be called 'Andrews'. If you can't find them put Bicarbonate of Soda in water. You use it for baking to make buns rise so it will make you burp but will neutralise the acid a bit.

Forgot to mention yesterday that when my class tested Tums in an experiment they were actually slightly acidic if they were the fruit ones and so they wont work unless they are the white ones.

Hope you get this sorted soon.

I just feel like it's too early for it to be from the pregnancy.....But I've never had it before in my life!  Either way, I have lots of options now!!  YAY!  Off to Walmart tomorrow morning.....Alaysha mentioned the bracelet too...I'll probably get one of those to have on hand in case M/S sets in!  Thanks Again!

If it's acidy try Andrews Liver salts (don't know if they're called that in the US) or try soda water. The Andrews will make you burp though ;)

Don't mean to bring bad news but it is normal and if you are unlucky like me, you may continue to experience it this pregnancy in its entirety.

Drink Ginger Ale and nip salty crackers.  GOOD LUCK!

that happened to me and I made my boyfriend search the internet for any kind of home remedies (these things always seem to happen in the middle of the night when stores aren't open) cause I had taken a hand full of Tums they weren't helping...
I know it sounds dumb and i don't know why it works but try pineapple or pineapple juice.  and stay away from anything minty (mint relaxes your throat and makes heartburn worse)

I WOULDN'T suggest MILK.
That makes a sour stomach even WORSE.

Eat some crackers, or bread or something that will soak up the acid and stomach liquids.

Try drinking some coke syrup [[buy it from cvs or walgreens or walmart]] or try sipping on ginger ale with lots of ice in it.

The ginger ale with ice thing worked GREAT for me.
But I also got the extra strength tums with the calcium in it, and they've been my best friend! lol

You can try xtra strength tums.. they're full of calcium.. or if all else fails, go ask your pharmacist what to reccomend that's safe for baby but will work better than tums.

There may be an OTC drug that's safe.

Eat a slice of bread. That'll help soak up the acid.

Get seasickness bracelets from walmart... they helped me. I got prescribed meds from my doctor for morning sickness but really all it did was make me narcoleptic and someone told me about the seasickness bracelets and they worked like a charm. :)
