I just took an ultrasound where they told me that it looks like I have a single artery umbilical cord (SAU).  I take another ultrasound in two weeks. I am extremely stressed out bc I have talked to a counselor and I cant stop thinking of the worst case scenario. Everyone thinks im over stressing it, but I cant stop thinking about it. Is there anyone that is willing to share their experience, I am desperately listening..

If you type in SUA in the "search medhelp" box at the top of the page, you can find a link to an old post from some ladies who went thru this, some with outcomes.  Hope that helps.

I don't have any experience with this either personally, but I was just reading an article about a women who had this with her first son the other day, and he was born perfectly healthy (I think it was in a parents magazine.. but I really cant remember). I know that there can be some complications including low birth weight related to SAU, but I don't think that this is always the case. It sounds like they are watching you really closely and you are in good hands. I will keep you in my prayers, and please keep us updated.
