Every single person is different. I was induced January 10th and freaking out because I was told my several people that it would be worse than normal labor but I wouldn't have had it any other way. I went in at 6am, they drew some blood and put an iv with fluid in it to make sure I wasn't dehydrated. It also depends on the type of induction they are doing. My doctor put this pill into my cervix to help thin it out. The pill lasts 4 hours and then after 4 hours, depending on where you are, he/she might insert another one or start your pictocin. I had 2 pills inserted, but they didn't thin me out much. When I was dilated to 1.5, the doctor came in and broke my water around 3pm. My contractions started about an hour later and after about 3 hours the nurse came back in and checked my cervix and I was dilated to a 4. I didn't want an epidural at first but I gave in and got it around 11pm while I was still dilated to a 4 and I was scared to death I would have to have a C-section (which is something that might happen if something doesn't go right) but at about 130 am, the nurse came back in and said that I was dilated to a 10 and 100% effaced. I started pushing at 2am and my son was born at 2:20am. The only negative thing I didn't expect was later on that morning when the nurses came in to take the epidural out and to help me go to the bathroom, I couldn't pee by myself for about 2 days so they had to put a catheter in me, which if you're not used to hurts so bad! But it's bearable. But like I said, everyone handles inductions and pregnancy differently. Go in with an open mind and know that anything can happen but to keep an open/positive mind.

I was induced with 2 of mine.  And I'm sure I will be with this one. My second induction I won't lie was horrible. My first was pretty easy after a while. Every pregnancy is different. But both times my labors from start to finish were pretty long

I've been induced with all three of my kids. Like the other poster said it's nice bc you can plan ahead and know exactly when the baby is coming. My inductions weren't nearly as fast though and took as long as a normal births. I think the shortest was 10 hrs from start of pitocen to birth. But it wasn't bad.
