Severe Stomach Pain at 28weeks

I am currectly 27weeks 6 days and for the past 4 hours i have been having terrible pains in my stomach.  When they first started i thought it was heartburn b/c it is at the top of my stomach.  I have never had severe heartburn so i am not sure how much pain it can really cause.  I have taken tums but it isn't helping.  I tried to lay down to take a nap but the pain is too bad for me to fall asleep.  Anytime there is any pressure on my stomach i get sharp pains starting at the top of my stomach and works its way throughout.  It is worse when there I lay on my right side, a little less on my left, and the least on while laying on my back.  My DH is starting to get worried (he likes to overreact) and I am not sure if this is something i should be concerned about or if it is just heartburn.  Any advice would be appreciated!!

Is it possible that you are coming down with flu? The past two days I have had awful shooting pains in my stomach, they woke me up from a dead sleep two nights ago and actually had me screaming. Yesterday morning I started getting diarrhea and throwing up, I couldn't keep anything down. Now this morning I am still getting the shooting pains in my tummy but I haven't had diarrhea or thrown up yet, it could just be because I haven't eaten anything yet though.

any pain rating that high, i'd talk to my dr. about. sure, it might be nothing but it also might be something and it's best to stay on the safe side.

On a scale of 1-10 i would rank the pain as a 6 or 7...It will go away for awhile and then out of no where i will have shooting pains again.  I know it isn't constipation b/c i have a couple bouts of diarreaha since yesterday.  I guess it could be the baby in a bad position, but who knows...Thanks for your thoughts

How bad is terrible?  If it is truly terrible, maybe you should go to the ER?  I've only had mild heartburn but I don't think what you are describing sounds like heartburn.  It could just be the baby is in a bad position causing you discomfort.  Is it possible you have gas or constipation?  The pressure comment made me wonder if perhaps it was that...

Good luck!
