Sex during pregnancy

I am 18w2d and every time my bf and I have sex I end up in a lot of sharp pain in my lower abdomen if it goes on for longer than like 10 mins (this happened sometimes before I got pregnant but not nearly this bad). I tried talking to my midwife about it but she didn't really have any answers. Anyone else have this problem and did it get better farther into pregnancy or after giving birth? My bf is really understanding but I miss our old sex life (we used to both have high sex drives, and now it's near impossible most of the time).

You could try a different position as well. I tried yo get on top once and the pain was excruciating. Going slow helps too. If you have any complications like bleeding it's best to hold off until after birth.

I wouldn't be too concerned if your midwife didn't say anything although I wouldn't think cramping when having sex sounds normal. My stomach gets tight and I have Braxton hicks contractions after sex which I've heard is normal but not sharp pains. Also if there's any bleeding then you need to be more insistent with your midwife for answers

Your sex drive will fluctuate through your pregnancy. Also pain is normal after or during while pregnant unfortunately its apart of it sometimes. I would try taking things slow dont get too rough or fast it might help with the cramping.
