Shooting pains in cervix

I am almost 33 weeks pregnant and I have been on bestrest since 29 weeks because of preterm labor.  My Dr. has been checking my cervix weekly and I have an internal u/s done every other week to see exactly what my cervix is doing.  Right now my cerivix is soft and it shortens when stressed, but I am not dialating.  Now the past few days I have been having shooting pains in my cervix.  It's usually just when baby gets to moving around, but it's getting to be a more regular pain.  When I was dialating with my last pregnancy I had no pain like this. I actually had no pain at all! I know pain is normal at this point, but could this be a sign of things changing or am I just being a worry wart?

It could be dilating or it could be baby pressing on a nerve. I felt a shooting pain in my cervix like someone was knifing me often in the last couple months of my pregnancy. It never really helped me dilate at all though.

If it were me, I would want to get checked out because I worry too much and my midwife now knows this. I don't feel bad anymore just calling and saying I'm concerned. ;) It could just be pain from the pregnancy, but it's always better to be on the safe side.

Well I'm sitting at the Dr.s office right now because I've been having a lot of cramping this morning.  So I guess I'll know soon if anything is going on or if baby is just being onery again. Thanks for your thoughts on this!
