Shooting pains in lower abdomen

I am 19 weeks 2 days and lately when I am work I have been getting these horrible shooting pains right above my pelvis, they get so bad that I have to stop what I am doing and double over. I am a waitress and I am usually on a shift by myself where there is no other server to help me. I have to carry trays of food out to my tables or else I wouldn't be able to get the food out quick enough. The other day I had the pains so bad that I was in fighting back tears while I was talking to my table. It goes away once I sit down for a few minutes but that isn't always possible when I have a full dinning room.
I go to the doctor tomorrow and I will tell him what is going on but I am afraid he is going to tell me I cant work anymore. There is no position available where I could sit down.
I tell the people at work that I cant lift more than 20 pounds and they act like they care but then no one helps me or they ignore it. Everyday my boss asks me to bring ice buckets up to the bar for him. I am like are you kidding me??? I never do it but I do have to carry other stuff.
I will stop rambling now but I want to know if these pains are normal? My sister says yes but I also know that she pushed herself too much when she was pregnant with my niece.

I am 11 weeks and 4 days and I have the exact same pains that GRose is describing, its in my lower abdomen.... I have an office job and I am sitting most of the time. When I stand i can feel that nagging pain and then a very big heavyness on my abdomen.  is this ligament pain too? I am very concerened. I am only seeing my doctor next week.

I also agree that it sounds like round ligament pain...which can be very painful!  I've had it bring tears to my eyes on more than a few occasions!

Have your dr. write your limitations for lifting etc. so that your boss will give you a break or at least stop asking you to do certain things!

Definitely talk to your Dr. and have him put something in writing....it sounds like they kinda just ignore the fact that there are certain things that you should not be doing.....It does kinda sound like round ligament pain but if its only happening at work and its getting bad enough to have you in tears then you might be overdoing it just a bit at work..... Talk to your dr and see what he thinks! And make sure he gives you something in writing to take to your boss! Hope you feel better!

lol. yourbody doesn't like what you're doing then, you'll have to have a good chat about it with your boss because you can't carry on as you are. I think the dr's note is a good idea

Yup, that is the only time I get them, only at work. If I can only lift 10 pounds weekends are going to be very interesting, they are going to have to hire someone just to carry my food for me lmao.

If whilst working is the only time you get these pains, i'd say it's your body saying no to what you're doing. your boss is legally obliged to provide you only with work that is safe for you to do.

I think your Dr. could right you an order that you can't lift anything heavy, I would say 10 pounds! It does sound like round ligament pain, but I would be VERY careful! Talk to your Dr. about it tomarrow for sure. good luck to you dear!

Thanks, I wish he could just lay me off, I know that is bad to say but I don't know how much longer I can serve, I wish I had an office job like I did when I was pregnant with Noah.
I hate to be the one to complain at work and make everyone carry my load. Maybe my OB will right me a note stating my limitations to give to my boss.

The type of pains that you are explaining may be round ligament pains, since your body is streching a lot now. I would sit your boss down and explain the situation asap! Your  may put limitations on what you may do! Good luck and I hope it gets better!
