You can call the pharmacy - a pharmacist has more ready knowledge on prescriptions and drug use. You can always verify things with your doctor but a pharmacist will check their database just to be certain a drug is safe during pregnancy.

Otherwise you can try more natural ways to calm down - warm (not hot) bath, Chammomile tea, etc.

i would def see your doctor first... and ask about it... the only thing i can recommend that you can take and may make you sleepy is benadryl.. it is safe during pregnancy and it has helped me sleep better.... although i must warn you... sleeping doesnt get any easier... so take it easy and try to rest even if you cant sleep much... i know its easier said than done cause i am now at the end of my pregnancy and the further along i was the worse i was sleeping... all this while working and going to school, plus hte morning sickness didnt help much either... anyways... after i stopped working and finished school i was able to rest a lot more and even though i wasnt sleeping much i was at least rested...

Good luck and hope you find something that helps ....

I would check with my doctor before taking anything, especially something like xanax.  I know there are 5 category ratings for prescription drugs and my doctor will only allow patients to take meds from two of the categories.

i think better if you ask your doctor just to be safe.
