Small amount of Retained products after a D&C

Hi,

I had a D&C on the 21/12/11 as a result of a missed miscariage. I went for an ultrasound on the 6/1/12 and they found that there was a small amount of retained products. Went back to the docs and my blood test showed that i still had 134 HCg levels. But they said that they do not do another d&c unless my levels are 300+. Does this seem right? what happens to the retained products...do they just dissapear on there own. Thanks

I had pains after having to deliver my twins at 20 weeks from the placenta not detracting properly. I had a piece stuck in my cervix that my Dr just pulled out. I have some clotting as well. But it worked itself out without a d&c

I had this happen after my first m/c.  I started having severe pains(it was like labor pain) and it was because of retained tissue after a d&c.  I had to have another d&c.  Good luck.

Get a new doctor.  You need an ultrasound-guided D&C.  Even a small dab of placental tissue can keep your numbers up there, and it can indeed cause a lot of scarring, with bad implications for your future fertility.

It needs to be removed. You get an infection from retaining them. After I had my son all of my placenta didn't detach and I got an infection that caused a temp of 106 and it almost sterilized me. My dr says the same thing can happen if you retain product after a miscarriage.
