Still paranoid..

Ok, here's my weekly paranoid question...
I'm 9 weeks.  I have an appointment tomorrow but no u/s tomorrow just bloodwork.  I saw the heartbeat at 6.6 weeks and it was 131bpm, so I guess that was good.  So, how can I tell everything is alright if I'm not getting a u/s?  As far as I know I don't know if I'm getting the doppler either...
Is no news good news? I don't know :(

She was mad because I came down to the lab close to closing time, but I couldn't come any sooner because I was extremely delayed at the Dr.'s office.  She was slamming stuff all over the place, she saw my face after the second vial and was like "are you ok?"  and I said that it hurt and then she tried to be nicer.  I hope I get a nice old nurse next time.
I'm a doctor setting phobe, I just hate being poked and prodded not that anyone likes it but I try to avoid it.  I'm totally the kind to skip going to the Dr. when I am sick. Its terrible but I just really hate it.

Hopefully the holiday will keep your mind busy and occupied.

Bummer about that needle!  I seriously used to have a huge needle phobia and I just overcame it in like the last few years but I still always tell the people that I don't like needles and I don't do very well with blood work/shots.  Usually it pays off and they try to go nice and easy with me =)  Even if you aren't a needle-phobe like me you might want to at least try telling them you are...However, I guess incompetence is incompetence and if you have someone who isn't skilled then your up the creek!

There's a knot there where she pierced me I know it'll bruise bad by tomorrow :(

Yeah I hope so too, I think I'll be able to stay calm although, they will be discussing my bloodwork then, which is always kinda scary for no reason.  I guess no "issues" is good news.

I hope the next two weeks pass quickly for you!  I know how hard it is to be patient when you want to see your little one!

Glad everything sounds good though (other than the bloodwork!)

Well I went to the appointment, we waited FOREVER, they did pelvic, gave us an orientation and breast exam, then did all the STD tests and bloodwork.  The stupid nurse that drew the blood was a f**king idiot!  She pushed that needle in to the bone! It still hurts!  The midwife said that the uterus is as big as it should be for 8.4 weeks and she said that everything should be fine since I don't have any cramps or bleeding and the u/s looked perfect two weeks ago.
Anyway, went to orientation, they booked me a u/s in two weeks so I can have some piece of mind.

That's it.  my husband got to watch patiently and saw how much weight I've gained :(

Thanks for keeping me in mind.

I know you really want to hear the HB, but chances are you wont hear it yet, and if they check for it and you dont hear it you will be worried... So if I were you I wouldn't ask yet. I work in an ER and we check heart tones all the time. Unfortunately you need to be 11-12 weeks before they can find it, unless you are very lucky, and it makes moms worry even more. You might want to beg for an u/s or try to schedule another one soon, but unless you are cramping and bleeding, I'm sure everything is going great. They might be willing to do another u/s knowing what you went through in June...
Good luck and I am sending a ton of baby dust your way!!! Again I am sure everything is fine if you are not having any cramping or bleeding....

They wouldn't give me an ultrasound until 8 weeks and then at 12w they did the doppler and the doctor prefaced the doppler with "it might still be early, so don't panic if we don't hear anything"  He said sometimes you cannot hear on the doppler until week 14 BUT if he didn't find the hb, they'd give me an ultrasound.

I'd ask just because I'm like that and I want everything done when I go lol  AND if it is too early, they might give you an ultrasound...I LOVE ultrasounds!

I'm sure everything is fine though...try not to worry yourself!  My doctor said cramping and bleeding were the only sign to worry about so if you are doing neither, my guess is all is well =)

just remember that a lot of times a doppler won't pick up a fetal heartrate before 12-15 weeks, so even if you request one it may not pick it up.

I remember feeling anxious when I wasn't having an ultrasound either. Its nerve wracking! Just try to think positive and remember you arent having any BAD symptoms!

I got lucky, my OBGYN did an u/s at my frist appointment, which was 8w3d and we were able to see and hear the hearbeat (through the transvag u/s).  Then at my next appointment, I was 12w3d and he did another u/s and same thing - heard and saw heartbeat.  But He also did those for free because he likes to see that everything is ok.  I did some bloodwork in between there also, but only checked the hcg levels after I first found out.  You may not be able to hear the heartbeat on the doppler just yet, so maybe they could do another quick u/s to make sure everything is ok?  To be honest, just take it day by day and ENJOY your pregnancy.  If you will m/c again it will happen regardless but as of now you are still pregnant and you just have to go on with your day as if you are.  I was the same way as you but my first time seeing/hearing the heartbeat was at 8w3d.  Just relax!

Don't worry to much, sometimed dopplers wont pick up that early, mine at 11 weeks, the had to find with U/S doppler wouldnt work, but at 14 weeks it was easy to find! Don't stress, you are in the slow satges right now, things will pick up!

Ok I'll ask.  My husband is coming with me so they might feel sorry for us and give us at least a doppler.

Thank you!

I would ask the nurse or doc to try and find the hb with the doppler . It takes 2 minutes to do so it's not like it's going to put anyone out. I haven't had one appointment where they didn't find the hb!

Although she's moving around, and I can feel her kicks it's still so comforting to here her hb!

I think you can ask them to try and find the heartbeat w. the doppler. They couldnt find Jaxson's with a doppler until 12 weeks though which just made me worry more.. Ugh.. The stresses of pregnancy!!

Ask though and in the meantime, no news is definitely good news!! Hang in there! I know its tough and stressful!!

((huge hugs!!))

Well I have some symptoms.  Very sore bbs, tired, fatigue, peeing a ton! OMG last night I woke up like 6 times to go to the bathroom to pee, needless to say I barely slept. Some mild queasyness but no nausea (yay!).  So, I just want to see the little bub again.  I had a mc in June and I am sooo  hopeful with this pregnancy because I feel fine and I'm just hoping I don't get bad news tomorrow before Christmas at my appointment....

I would say no news is good news..... I know its hard not to worry, but as long as there is no cramping or bleeding you should be fine! Dont worry about symptoms, they come and go, get worse and get better, so as long as there is no bleeding/cramping you should be ok..... My dr did not do the doppler until i was about 12 weeks.... 9 might be a little to early.... you can ask them tho, they might try it out for ya!

I know it is hard but stop worrying. Some women don't even get an u/s until 20 weeks, I didn't with Noah. They might try and use the doppler to hear the hb but they might not since it can be hard to find earlier than 12 weeks. Your not having any cramping or bleeding so I would say the baby is doing GREAT!!!
Just relax and enjoy being pregnant :)

My doc doesn't start using the doppler until about 12 weeks either.  I mean, he would try a little earlier than that, but it can be hard to find until about then.  They may be able to find it, and then they may not.  It is just so small before then.  But by your next visit, they should def be able to hear it be doppler, so it won't be long before you hear it every visit!!!  You just never get tired of that sweet sound either :)
