I swear by bio oil and Palmers cocoa butter, I covered myself in the stuff last pregnancy and will this time too :) x
That doesn't mean you'll get them-- it's just because the skin is stretching and growing. I had an itchy belly as well, and as stated have no stretch marks.
Thank you so much for the info. But more than likely since I'm itchy already I probably will get them right,?
Your parents genes contribute to yours obviously. One parent might have the gene that would make your skin prone to stretch marks and pass it on, but neither of them have stretch marks themselves. It could be a recessive trait back from your grandmother; genes are crazy like that.
My mom has stretch marks and I used palmer's cocoa butter and extra virgin olive oil on my belly and I didn't get stretch marks until I delivered. I don't have many and they're faint, but I do have them.
it's in YOUR genetics hon...sometimes it depends on your parents, but usually just like some people are prone to freckles whether or not their parents are (I have freckles but neither of my parents).....some people simply have more stretch-mark prone skin and it's due to your unique, individual DNA.
There was an article online about it that I'll try to find.
How is it in the genetics????? My mom has them but my sister has 2 kids and has none!!!! We have all have the same parents!!
Use bio oil
It helps a lot with the itching. (:
I agree with Clysta and macynsmama...its genetics and luck, and water is key to skin health.
I'm on baby #3 (I already have 2 beautiful children) and despite getting HUGE bellies with my previous pregnancies, I still have no stretch marks..i"ve never used a single cream or oil.
unfortunately stretch marks are unavoidable. if you are going to get them then there is no stopping it but you can use any cocoa butter lotion to help with the itching
Nothing will prevent stretch marks. It's all due to genetics-- my family does not get stretch marks so I have none (I also did not use any creams) Make sure you drink lots of water, it helps to increase skin elasticity.
