You're welcome!  I hope something works for you - I sometimes use two or three products at a time - or just add on whatever lotion is around the house.  My skin has been really dry and itchy this time, so any kind of lotion helps with that.  I am 37 weeks along with my 2nd baby and I am hoping I don't get any more stretch marks in the mean time! :-)

I drank a lot of water and have good genes and I never got them when I was pregnant, despite the fact that both pregnancies I looked like I was carrying triplets..no joke. BUT when I was a teenager, I guess I used to get them on my breasts and hips - I had completely forgotten until my mom mentioned it. THey're completely gone now and I never did anything to get rid of them, but I do believe that it's 100% genetics and the creams are a waste of money.

I will share my secret! lol, no its not a secret but I'm on my 2nd pregnancy (almost 30 weeks) and have no stretch marks. I know genetics play a big factor as does drinking LOTS of water!!! but I use a mary kay cream at night...

Its very moisturizing and keeps my stomach/hips and back very soft. I have to wear one of my husband's undershirts to keep from staining the sheets (for some reason its tinted pink) but I definitely think it has helped! I put it on just before going to bed. I also use the cocoa butter stretch mark cream after I shower. A friend of mine recommended the MK cream, her SIL used it through all 4 pregnancies and never got a stretch mark so I thought it was worth a try! HTH!

marisol:  I love that name!

Anyway, I used palmers coco butter for streach marks with my first child. I absolutely HATE the smell.  it makes me nauseous.  But it is pretty cheap.  I used a ton of it with my first (everywhere) I had NO streach marks with her & got HUGE!

This pregnancy I have been lazy.  I was kinda thinking that My skin may be more elastic (since I'm polish & it is oily)  I thought I wouldn't get em cause I didn't before..... WRONG.

Last week I found a few on my lower belly (had to use a hand mirror to see em cause I'm so big)  Guess I should have been using that stinky cream.  I picked some up yesterday, hope it fades them.

I think anything would help since the more hydrated your skin is, the more elastic it will become.  Personally though, I would stick to a kind that says it is for streach marks.

I only got them on my belly.  I've had 6 full term pregnancies so I have my fair share.  I never used anything other than just regular lotion for dry skin becuase my skin gets REALLY dry and itchy during pregnancy.

There are creams out there (usually pretty expensive) that can help to fade and minimize the appearance of stretch marks but they never completely go away.  They typically fade on their own anyway.

Stretchmarks have more to do with genetics and less to do with products you use.

My stretch marks don't bother me in the least...I consider them my souvenirs from the most wonderful and beautiful experiences of my life.

I suppose I should also mention--even if you have no visible stretch marks while pregnant, they can occur after you deliver as well. I just don't want you to be surprised if that happened to you.

I used palmer's oil and their cocoa butter lotion with my first baby and didn't get any stretch marks.  With this baby, I started getting a few on my belly when I started showing, because I hadn't started using any type of product yet, then I immediately started using my oil and lotion again and I bought bio oil and would use the palmers products in the mornings and bio oil at night before bed.  Now I just do the bio oil because I ran out of the other and I'm almost due anyways.  You can get Walgreens brand bio oil, which is what I did because it's cheaper than the name brand. :-)  Oh, and once I started using the products again with this pregnancy, I haven't seen my stretch marks get any worse.  So, I am a believer in the stuff - regardless of family history.  It may be a coincidence, but hey, it's worked so far. :-)

I'm due june 11. and I know for sure they sell bio oil at walgreens. I'm sure they have them at other drug stores as well...possibly walmart??? But swimming is great! and it's good for your joints and helps take the weight off of your spine and feet and stuff! My OB recommended that I swim, but I don't have access to a pool until may 31 =/ and I just moved back to VA, after living in FL, and I will NEVER go to the beach here again...lol...ew.

When r u due?? I'm due sept 19. I can't wait :) I'm excited

I said I would work out throughout my pregnancy, and I did take my dogs on walks A LOT through my first and second trimester. I also bought a pregnancy yoga dvd.....i've used it twice lol. But this third trimester, I do nothing. I'm not kidding when I say that my only form of exercise is running to the bathroom. hahaha. (i shop a lot too. so maybe that counts?) My feet are really sore though, from all the extra weight. So sometimes it hurts to walk on them. I'm not gaining excessively either but everyone is different. You should swim laps in a pool if you have access to one. I was the same as you as far as not caring about stretch marks unless they were on my belly. I REALLY did not want them on my stomach. But really, like I said, they're not that bad! I might feel differently after I have him and try to get sexy again. hah. but you should try the bio oil. I think it has helped me a whole lot. It may not keep you from getting them, but it could lessen the appearance of them. And seriously, DRINK TONS OF WATER! Hydration is key to elasticity.

I only got them on my breasts and lower back and all have faded to nothing. I didn't use anything. Stretch marks go with pregnancy, and if you get em you get em. Not really too much you can do about them. Just think, it's all worth it to have a healthy baby. Your body might not look the same, but at the end of the day it's not truly important how it looks.

Stretch marks are genetic. If you are going to get them then nothing will prevent them. Creams will help with the elasticity of your skin and help lessen them but it wont make it not happen.

Thanks for the advice. I went to motherhood maternity in the mall and wasn't sure if I should have got the butter creme or the massage regular creme so j just bought the second one instead. But now I want to get the other one LOL the lady on the store was just rude to me. :( the stretch marks on my thighs butt and legs aren't that bad ( so my mom says) LOL maybe she's trying to be nice . But I just don't want them on my belly. Do you think that's selfish of me.? I'm gonna try that olive oil in the bath now that u mentioned it :). Oh yeah throughout your pregnancy did you work out alot or should I say go for walks ?

Hi. I'm 37 weeks pregnant, and I just started to get them on the lower half of my tummy =/ they're really faint though. I started getting stretch marks when I was about 5 months, and I only got them on my hips. They haven't gotten much worse since then. They're kind of just a continuance of the ones I got when I went through puberty. They're reddish, but not deep at all and not wide either. I slowly began to get really light thin ones on my butt and inner/outer thighs. They really aren't that bad though. I thought I would hate them. but I don't mind them so much. I do use bio-oil after every shower. and then at night I was using the palmer's cocoa butter, but I recently switched to burt's bees belly balm. They're all pretty greasy, but they really seem to soak into my skin and stay there as opposed to any lotions I've tried. I'm going today to get more bio oil and possibly vitamin e caplets or oil. They say that massaging the places you are most prone to stretch marks and kind of pre-stretching the skin helps a lot. My OB also said to stay very well hydrated and eat lots of protein, it helps the elasticity in your skin. I also sometimes add a little bit of olive oil to my bath water. I feel like I have done all that I can do, and if they get any worse then I can say at least I tried. lol. But I think mine look really great considering that my mom's look like tiger scratches and that's how you're supposed to judge whether or not you will get them! Good luck.
