well, with my son i only gained 15 lbs. and had gained like 2 lb.s a month until i hit 7 1/2 months and then i didn't gain any after that...........i weighed myself again this morning in my b-day suit and weighed 118! my mom was in the room with me when i got weighed Tuesday and she told me my chart said 118, so that's the reason i weighed my self this morning and it was 118.2.....so i have gained 10 lbs. already within 7 weeks! the nurse told me they wanted me to gain at least 30 - 35 lbs. and it just freaks me out because i have always been small......oh well, i guess we'll see how it goes...LOL!
The last time i was weighted i had gained 25 pound in 25 weeks
I am 23w4d and I have only gained 15lbs total. By 12 weeks I had gained 13lbs, by 20 weeks I had only gained 2 more, and I have lost 5lbs in the last few weeks. Weight tends to go up and down during pregnancy. Like a few previous posters have said, it depends on the scale, water retention, clothing, everything really. My doctor thinks I will only gain in the first and third trimester. This pregnancy however it way different than my first. I gained almost 70lbs with my first baby, which is extremely excessive, so who knows. Every body and every pregnancy is different. I wouldn't worry about it unless your doctor becomes worried about it. And when it comes to weight, they seem to be pretty open about their opinions. So I'm sure you are fine! :)
Is this the same scale you used before? If it's not calibrated (sp) weekly, it can be off by a few lbs! I wouldn't worry to much about it, plus it's likely just water weight if anything! It comes and goes!
I think you are fine...I (try) to eat well (except a few indulgent days around the holidays and my baby showers) I was exercising almost an hour a day during my second trimester...now I do half an hour in my third trimester and I have gained 30 lbs already!!!! My doctor hasn't said a word about my weight...and everyone always guesses I've gained 15-20 lbs. (maybe they are trying to be polite...but most people say I look small too) My legs, hips, butt look the same...I'm carrying all in the belly. I've been told your body will do what it needs to do and as long as you are eating right and being active, not to worry about it (unless if your doctor mentions it...)
Good luck!
I think you're fine- especially since you weigh so little. Overweight women have to gain way less, whereas underweight women need to gain more. You can always lose the weight later, so don't stress yourself!
Keep in mind that you weight can go up and down with pregnancy. It can depend on if you had a BM, if you ate before, what your wearing, and if you are swelling... you could have water weight. So its normal. Have you had a ultrasound yet? Are you sure there is only one in there? :-P I lost 10 pounds in my first trimester. My dr and mid wife said that its normal. Don't worry, Anita
Like chantal21 said some women gain it all in the first few months of pregnancy. This is how I gain my weight throughout pregnancy- I am just so dang hungry early on!
I wouldn't really worry. We all gain differently during pregnancy. Maybe you just won't gain so much in the 2nd trimester. Some women gain it right away, and others don't, it just depends. Did your OB say anything about it? If not, I would say it's not a big deal. Enjoy your pregnancy and try to eat as healthy as possible and get lots of fluids! (I am struggling with that right now, but today has been pretty good)
