Tricomonasis!? Sexually transmitted infection??

Wtf is that? I just got a call from doctors office with my pap results and they write me a prescription for tricomonasis?? Anyone with answers or experience please shed some light on this situation. What exactly is this, how will it effect my baby and how did this happen?

Yes I'm taking my medication now, they said it should go away in a couple days. And honestly it's possible for either of us to have gotten it awhile back and just now finding out. But then again, I have researched and it says it could be transferred through towels or underwear, soo maybe a toilet seat? Idk, I'll get answers from my doctor next week! Thanks ladies.

here is a good website for you http://www.cdc.gov/std/trichomonas/default.htm?mobile=nocontent
And it is termed and sti sexually transmitted infections and yes if your partner had sex with someone who had it without you know then had sex with you, then you could become infected. Sti are similar to std. The only way to get these infections are from sex and they can spread with multiple partners. At jaaked you should really research further on sti on the website I listed above from th CDC

Oh wow! I was really confused when they were saying it was a std, that makes a lot of since. I didn't think it came from different partners, just from germs/bacteria. Did your doctor suggest getting your partner checked out as well? I really need to consult with my doctor.

ITS NOT AN STD! !! you get it from having sex but its just an infection meaning you cant be a carrier for it or transmit it to others. More than likey you got it from not properly cleaning after sex. I had the exact same one & punched my bf in the face bc I thought he gave me something but the dr explained that its completely diff than an std.I had to take some antibiotics & it was completely gone. Be safe of the kind of lubes you use also. Thats how I got mine

It should tell you on your bottle how you should take it. So if says to only take the 4 as a one time dose then they gave you some for him if it doesn't specify how many you need to take I would call and get that clarified before taking any.

There is a reason why they prescribe you a certain amount of antibiotics. You should probably take all 8 & your bf should get his own prescription because you might not get 100% cleared up if you only take 4. Just a thought, you couldve been exposed longer.

Lmao(his on his own), yes I was pregnant when I took them, they wouldn't give you something that wasn't safe for the baby, but give him some because you don't want to be cured and him not to be because he will keep passing it to you,if you don't give him none than you get it again you will know because after sex it will burn, it's harder for guys to get symptoms.

Ok awesome, were you pregnant while you took them? I just want both of us to be cured, but if my baby is at risk of being born prematurely then f*ck him, he's on his own. Lol but if 4 of 500mg cured you then we should be good then hopefully. I think I'll get tested my appt next week.

I Think About 3 Days Ask The Doctor. We Aren't Doctors So We Can't Tell U Much && Yes Its Possible That One Of U Could Of Had It For Awhile && Didn't No You Get It Having Unprotected SEX

So one of us could have had it for awhile and just now finding out? I'm shocked, I haven't had anything like this before though it's not impossible. So how long does it normally take to clear up? I feel really disgusting, lol no side effects or anything just the knowledge of having bacteria scares me!

It Could Have Came From You Or Your Partner ' It Can Be Cured It Is Possible That You May Not Have Seen Or Felt Any Symptoms They Are 4 Pills That You Take All At Once && Be Sure Too Let Your Partner Know If He Doesn't Know Already
