Try ECV or just accept c section?

I'm a ftm, my due date is the July 29th. Last week we found out our little boy had turned breech. We waited until today to see if he would turn back but he hasn't. The doctor says we can try the ECV or just schedule the c section. I'm not sure if I want to do the ECV because of the risks and low success rate. My little boy has been about two weeks ahead since 28 weeks and is sitting diagonally. He is already over 7lbs. He really doesn't seem to have enough room to move and maybe it would be better to just accept c section. So has anyone had a ECV and would you recommend trying it first?

Thanks ladies I think I'll try the ECV. I'm scared to do either but I really want to deliver naturally so it's worth a shot. :-)

I've had one and it was succesful, I had mine done at 37 wks and bub was monitored for an hour afterwards then we went home, he had his bum pretty wedged in so the doctor had to dig him out, I was sore internally for the rest of the three weeks but he stayed head down and I delivered him vaginally, think about it, and go with your gut, yes there are risks with it but they are prepared for those, they usually have the operating theatre on standby as well, they also usually do an ultrasound beforehand to check exactly how bub is positioned and where the cord is, there are also risks involved with a c-section as well, so its just a matter of going with what your most comfortable with :)

With my first I found out she was breech at 37 weeks. They gave it until 38 weeks for her to flip. She didn't. I'm very small (5'4 and 95 lbs before my pregnancy) and I felt that if I took the easy way out and got a c-section that it would make the birth less meaningful. Weird I know. So I went ahead and did the ECV. It was easy as pie. They hooked me up to an ultrasound machine and one doctor monitored the baby while the other doctor massaged behind her head and pushed under her butt. She didn't like it and so she flipped. Took maybe a total of 5-10 minutes tops. I was so afraid it would hurt (and goodness knows I have the lowest pain tolerance) and honestly I felt a little pressure but it really didn't hurt at all. I remember thinking "that's it?! That's what I've been so worried about?!" Maybe I just had a great doctor. Who really knows. But I ended up giving birth 2 days later, vaginally and it wouldn't have changed it for anything.
