Trying to conceive after Depo

I started on depo provera shots for the second time when my third child was born in 2008. My last shot was In January of 2011. I'm trying to conceive but I've only spotted twice since stopping the shots. Once in October and once in December. Do you have any advice?

I was depo shot for almost a year and got pregnant while on it. Just dont give up and keep trying!!!

Provera works like a charm...i have severe PCOS and have been prescribed it MANY times to induce my period. You could ask your drs for provera and clomid to induce your period then ovulation!! i hope it all works out for you :)

I was on 4 yrs been off since 2003 and barely got pg this last sept! if i had known i would chose another route they didnt warn us about those things bk then! I had a 6 yr marriage that i was TTC the whole time and it didnt happen! My baby was a total suprise but hes a miracle!

I was on depo for a five years...it took me two uears to get preg. But during those two years I had alot of missed periods,long periods and also heavy....anyways it does take some time to get preg...i wish you the best of luck

Thanks! I was on depo for two years the first time and it took me around ten months to get pregnant again but I also had to take the pill to get my cycle back on track. I read it can take atleast a year sometimes when you've been on depo for an extended time. I really wish I had never gotten it after my last child because the doctor had warned not to take more than two years in all. I really didn't plan on having more children but I have changed my mind. I read that taking Provera could help with starting the period. Have you heard anything about that? I started on FertilAid last week which contains Vitex.

I started taking Vitex last week. I ordered Fertilaid off the internet hoping it would help. I spotted for a day or two last month so I'm hoping maybe it will help get me back on track soon. Thanks!

I had my last depo shot in mid may...i concieved in mid october and i only have one fallopian tube...soooo dont give up!!!

Mareyah...Dont give up on your dream i have been off Depo 8 yrs and just found out in Oct that i was pg!! im now 19 wks w a lil boy and im so excited i never thought i d see motherhood!! I swore I was sterile and after my divorce i was done thought i didnt stand a chance i met my new BF and now we re having a baby!!

Chriss..If you re wanting to get your cycles bk on track and jump start the baby train try taking Vitex you can get it at any health food store its cheap and it will regulate you! If you dont mind waiting it out get on the B/C pills for about 3 or 4 months that will also do the trick!!

I had depo for 6 months, I only had 2 shots. It took me 6 months to get my period back and I was on the pill after I got my period but then went off it and got pregnant my second month trying. But we didn't try until I had already been off the shot for a year and a half. Just wait it out and good luck.

I hope you conceive. I have been off depo for nearly 13 years and was just able to conceive which led to a miscarriage.  Relax and wait!  I am sure it will happen for you.....just have to stop trying and let it happen naturally.
